Need good Antivirus Software

seems nothing is up to date anymore?

new dell computer $200 dollars?
or 600 hours trying to keep your computer running priceless?

Fthe anti virus companies.....you know they are the guys making most of the junk anyways.... so we will never win this battle???

both spybot and superantispyware will remove the antivirus 2009 malware. the latest kaspersky and avg will only clean up parts of it.

I tried to get to both of these to download. But this Antivirus 2009 takes over your web pages. So EVERY time you click on a link to download this type of software it switches the page to Maxium Mag, Elle, etc. Total BS. So I was so pissed I just hauled it off to the service guy and said fix it.

The people that start these should be jailed for life. (I would be money it's the makers of the antivirus software) Or aleast someone on the inside.

Wow, this is an interesting thread....lol!

As I have stated many times before, free anything isnt going to do much for you. This is a case where what you pay for is what you get.

If after you have tried all the above, and you cant get satisfaction, PM me.

How about just telling us what you recommend? :)

Or PM me. I am picking up my POS in about an hour.

I agree!!!

I really do like windows though. If it wasnt for virus and malware issues in windows, I wouldnt have a business. :)

No need to go to all that hassle Gimp, Avast home version is free, you just need to register it after 30 or 60 days on their website, then they email you a key (free) enter the key when prompted and thats it. I have been using it for several years at home on 3 computers and never have had to pay.

P.S. It works well too - never had a single issue with the nasty stuff out there while using it.

Heck, I thought when the time was up that you had to pay for the key. I'll find out in about... 50 days

Thanks

Thats B.S. In most cases it takes several utilities to completely resolve a virus. If you tried this superantispyware you would be really surprised how well it works.Kaspersky ,avg are good ones but in most cases one won't finish the job.

Arctic thunder, whats your email? ill just shoot them off to you.

X2... but I would add a visit to Microsoft One Care. This is one of the (if not the best) virus and spyware cleaners out there. Go to http://onecare.live.com/site/en-us/default.htm
It will clean the registry and defrag to boot. Excellent scanner but the free version is an on-line scanner so if you cant get to the internet it won't do much good. I have also heard the Norton 360 is great...they finally listened and it is not supposed to slow your system down. I have a couple of friends running it and they are impressed compared to what it used to do.

I wish everyone WOULD get a MAC...then they would be writing the viruses for it. Right now MAC is not even worth Microsoft worrying about. Windows family owns over 90% of the market. MAC owns just a little more of the market than Linux. No reason for anyone to write a virus for Linux or MAC...you would affect only a tiny portion of the systems out there, no glory in that.

No matter what you use to clean up your system you had better used a multi-pronged attack. No one cleaner will do it.

Ill have to try that one care sometime.I actually like some of the new norton software. not so much for 360 as some folks have difficulty with the internet security portion of it.

It may take YOU several utilities to accomplish something like this, but it doesnt me. When you have worked at this daily for a decade...that may possibly earn you the right to tell them they are slinging BS, until then think before you speak. ;)

I will take a guess and say, since you deal mostly with computer security, your clients are more protected than say the folks I deal with. I have fixed hundreds of machines for folks who's anti virus expired and they went unprotected for years. Its alot harder to remove a virus in that instance.

" When you have worked at this daily for a decade..."

Iam only 26 and have that experience.(8 years in a professional environment)You have no idea of my background yet you still judge me...
