Need a new boot

Hated the fat stiff Klims, cant remember the name of them, and loved the Klim Adrenalines (couple years old now) but they are not warm enough. Need a warmer boot that isnt too stiff or too bulky. Suggestions from riders who have a found a performance boot with extra warmth? tia

Just curious what socks you wear with the adrenalines. If you dont wear the klim socks your feet will get cold due to the moisture from your sweaty feet not being wicked away, just a thought. I just bought my second pair of adrenalines and love them.

I dont have good circulation in my toes. I always wear Klim socks or a warm non cotton sock. I just need something rated warmer but not too fat. Im thinking about the FXR backshift rated to -70

I bought both the Motorfist stompers and hmk voyageur boa, I really like both boots but the hmk's are warmer I also have klim adrenaline boots and they are to warm for me no matter which sock I wear they are soaked from sweat at the end of the day.
On a side note last year I fell in the Kakawa river wearing the hmk at -16 c both boots were soaked, but my feet stayed fairly warm on the 2 hour ride out.

I dont believe the problem with your adrenaline's is that they are too warm. If I wanted warmth I would wear my big fat sorels rated at 100 below but they are so wide they arent very good for performance nor do they offer any support. I need something in between. I do think all of these boots are way overrated on the temps they can handle. -40 is insanely cold and no way these thin boots are keeping the toes warm at that temp.

Ive wondered about those but Im a little concerned about the height. Are they high enough for those days when you need to get unstuck in 3' of powder.

Mickey mouse boots are the ticket if you have cold feet and want something flexible, they are $15 at your local water department. Cons: heavy and your feet get damp from sweating. I wore them for years riding but now where something lighter.

Just received the FXR Backshift. They're going back - they're way to bulky. My last pair were Baffin and I thought they were big. They look small compared to the Backshift. I'm not sure what to try next.

Freak,

In our opinion you would be happier with the Arctic GTX Boot from Klim if you need the extra warmth. Most of the boots will end up being around the same stiffness and support once broken in from all of the brands. The only true extra supportive boots that you will find are going to be the boots with removable liners in them that add an extra fastening system for extra support i.e.: HMK Focus BOA, Klim Radium GTX (which we believe is the boot you did not like), FXR Tactic BOA etc. So if you want a combo of support, warmth, and keeping a smaller profile on the boot the Arctic is going to be the one to jump on. Still reasonably small in overall size, has some good stiffness, and also has 1200 g insulation. Feel free to write us, call us or PM us if you have any more questions you want answered, as we have had the chance to ride almost all the boots we retail.

the elevation lite is way smaller more like a reg boot with the bowa system

Elevation Lite is a killer boot! We rode in them this past weekend at -4. Lightweight, BOA system seems refined, and not bulky at all. However, if FREAK has feet that get cold easily, likely will not be enough insulation as they have the same amount as the Klim Adrenaline that he said he was cold in.

Motorfist

I have worn a pair of MotorFist Stomper boots for two seasons now, and I can say that I will be buying MotorFist boots for a very long time. They are comfortable, durable, and warm. Even in -10 temps, my feet are warm and normally sweaty. Better bang for the buck than Klim imo.

I've read, on this forum, about bad experiences with the FXR boa system. As in it failing and FXR not standing behind their product. How long have you had your FXRs for? I would hope for more than one season out of a $340.00 boot.

Someone told me the buckles scratch the shizz out if your tunnel is that true? Otherwise they look great

I can say that the redlines are one of the nicest boots I have worn..i can see the tail from the strap scratching the tunnel...as for now I think I will simply cut them down and round the edges. But for now I really love the fit ,feel and warmth!!!
