Need a little help

Ok, I don't ask for help often but I am looking for some help gathering firewood for the winter. My wife can handle a chainsaw and doesn't mind buck up some wood but is not thrilled with the idea of dropping any trees. I would do it for her but not sure I would be able to get out of the way of a falling tree if I needed to and not sure if I could wield a chainsaw with one hand, so I don't fall out of my wheelchair. If any of you would be willing to helpout please let me know.

Thanks to all,

SG

hey i will hold the saw, you run the throttle and push the tree LOL,i had the same problem, but now i got a pellet stove best move ever,my wife same thing don't mine bucking but falling? aint going to happen, good luck buddy.

Sounds like a good excuse to get out. Where are you planning to gather firewood from? Let me know when and I'll try to make it.

We are going up into SoapStone this Saturday at about 10:00 - 10:30 but have to put up about 12 - 14 cord in the nex few months so we will be going back.

Thanks for any help you can give us Dan

I'm sure Tyrel would love to see you anyway

They have opened the Mirror Lake Hwy area up to firewood gathering. I was up there last week and there is a LOT of dead wood available. There were a handful of people loading some up. You are limited to a single axle trailer.

Gimp, I don't know if you are a member of the LDS church, but even if not, the local youth in the church are ALWAYS looking for service projects. They would love to help out with something like this I garantee. Our youth take great care of all the people in our neighborhood, members or not.

I am, but can never seem to get them coordinated to come when I have the time do do it.

I was up there last weekend and they have gone through and cut down ALLOT of beetle kill and it’s just there for the people to come cut it up and haul off. That way you wouldn’t have to worry about cutting anything down. We hauled off a couple trailers full. I didn’t know there were any restrictions on how big of a trailer though.

I stopped in the ranger station in Kamas to ask about it when I was up there and the lady said the only restriction was single axle... 4 ton I believe.

I'll be out of town for a week but planning on doing a family ride in Soapstone on Saturday. Let me know if you want to set something up for the following weekend September 4th let me know. I'd be happy to get out and lend a hand

We dropped 10 Beetle Kill tree's on our property last Thurs. and I can honestly say that handling a chainsaw and wrestling logs is the hardest thing I've done since my Bicep Reattachment. I'll be lucky to get enough done for my own Winter but keep me posted of the dates you have in mind to cut.

Are you hauling long lengths such as 6-8' or cutting to log lengths such as 20"? If hauling long, we can get you done for sure. :face-icon-small-win

I am in! Just need a little advance warning... I work a rotating 4 day week, so I am off some weekends, but not all If you can break away during the week, I could help then too! Might even be able to drag kim, and kevco along!
Shoot me an email, or text, since I don't get on here that often.

We are hauling long logs and bucking them at the house. It is faster to get the work done on the hill that way and we have a big splitter at the house.

I think we are going to try again on the 4th

Thanks Ron

Nice! Way to step up peeps! Too bad you aren't here, the USFS already has the beetlekill cut to 5' lengths and stacked, all you need to do is back up to a pile and go to town

I have already been out once, but will need to go again at least 2 more times. We plan on going on Sept 4th up into Soapstone again. Any and all help is greatly appreciated my cell is 435-513-1825.

Thanks to all,

HI all,

Thanks to all who have offered to help with this. We will be going again on Saturday Sept 4 to the soapstone area. We will be meeting up at the noblets parking lot at about 10am. If you can come help it would be a huge help, to my wife and I. As you know I will do all I can but am limited or I wouldn't ask.

Thanks again for all the help
SG

Do you still need help? I will be out with the scouts on 9/18 up above timberlakes (just after you start downhill on the CC side) and we would be more than happy to cut/load a few extra cord. Call or txt (801)-921-thirty nine oh six.

Im in. Crazy busy right now but I could use the Karma...and the fresh air. I bought a chainsaw from Kim last year, it has a turbo cant wait to see how it runs! BTW I have a dual axle trailer? Would the tree cops bust us Dan? BTW I think Kims leaf blower had a turbo too!

Headed up by blue lake this Sat with lots of help from the elders at church. I will let you all know if I need more after this weekend and if so will be going again the following Sat. Thanks a mil guys.

I think Kims leafe blower is a turbo
