neat craigslist find

beautiful truck... my brother and i have been talking about building a late 70's 3+3 chev 4x4 with a cummins exactly like that for years... Those old ford pretty sweet too. Wish I had some money layin around for that thing...

there is sweet 75 set up the same way in spokane on a lot, but it sits on dodge running gear with a five speed. only problem is they think it is gold plated.:beer;

I think both you and him are off, if the grill hasn't been changed out. That isn't a '77 grill either. The '77 grills don't wrap around the headlights like that. They have bezels that go around the lights, similar to the '78-79s. I can't remember if the grills changed in '76 or '77. I am guessing the grill has been changed though, because I don't think they started building the crew cabs until the late '70s. Regardless, that is a sweet truck.

76 and 77 had the same grill with the park lights up high but the fender badge was below the molding in 76 and above in 77. the 78 and 79 had the park light down low but 78 had round headlights for 3/4 of the year and square headlights the last two to three mounts of production. 79 had square headlights all of the production year. Opps put way to much info.........and build way too many of them....

I'll bet its a 78 if the guy says it is you don't have a truck that modded and that nice without changing a lot of parts. probably found a good doner truck and made the switch. but I'm right with you on the difference.
