Name on Sno-Park Permit

Any time you want to come down and ride baker, I'd be happy to show you around.

You are probably looking at the Bear Paw side if you're seeing it from Canada.

As far as I'm concerned there's no place better to ride than whistler on a fresh sunny day!

Have a great year!

would love to take you up on that offer!! might come down between x-mas and new years! i want to peer into the crater!

Yeah, I've NEVER heard of such a thing in 31 years of riding......It says "License Number" so I would be a bit skeptical of that unheard of information....and YES those Law Enforcement Officers that patrol the parks can be VERY sticky about things!! :face-icon-small-sho

Honestly, I'm sure our cheap state is planning on charging us for the damn park permits in the future! Another way to generate some form of money to put in their pocket and tell us it's to maintain the trails...then they will forget some or the weather will be too bad for the plows to get to certain areas.

i ran into the same issue when i got my permit they put my name on it and did not even give me an option

this year

I asked the rational behind it after reading this thread. The lady had me put my name and phone number on the carbon copies that she keeps. In the past I used to be able to get extra, but she told me now the state requires them to track every sno park permit and also only one permit per sled. The cross country skiers and snow shoers are required to buy them too and if you needed extra you can purchase them. I dont see how this could be a bad thing.

I just got my tabs Friday. They only put my name on the carbon copy, but they wouldn't give me an extra one like they used to. One per sled. Who cares if Olympia has my name on the Snopark permit, they already have it on the sled registration. I think their just trying to cut down on the people with freebie permits, (getting them from their buddies etc.). Maybe this will force more people to register their sleds, meaning more funding for grooming. A win-win situation.

When at the groomers meeting 2 weeks ago this was brought up. The officer who attended our meeting said he (personally) would most likely accept the name on the permit as long as it was filled out. If it were me personally however, I would definitely find a place to put the license number on it so there is no doubt it is on there.

Better to be over prepared than under;)

It apeers that independent liscensing stations dont know what they are doing. Get your tabs through the local county liscensing agency through the mail. The snopark pass should be blank but must be filled in to be valid. If someone put in a name take it to the county liscensing division and ask for a replacement.

I went to King County DOL and registered one of the sleds in person. The attendant wrote my name down in the box right there on the spot... There must be something else going on.

So I received my permit in the mail and yes my name is loaded in where it clearly states Lic#. Today at Gold Creek I was checked by law enforcement so I asked about it. The officer seemed very surprised that I received it in the mail this way. He said to go ahead and just write your lic# above your name.

I rode GC today and had no problems with my name in the box. Enforcement was there others have stated. I definitely will scribble in my license plate # somewhere though!

Name on Sno-Park Permit Reply to Thread

I just picked up two permits today, no names not even a license number. I guess you just have to be nice to the girls behind the counter. :face-icon-small-win

I picked my tabs up Saturday at Alpine in Issaquah. They generally are super cool and in the past I'd get 2-3 passes no questions. This year total smack down. I couldn't even get a second one for our second registered vehicle.

When I asked how to get one, she said take it up with the parks department. Further probing got me no where. She couldn't even give me a number. If they aren't gonna give you a second one, then at least they should provide an option to get a second one. Instead I got cold shoulder.

Thinking I'd be better off not wasting my time trying to be legitimate and just fire up the scanner and the laser printer. Ridiculous.
