165 2.75 KHAOS Slash w/ Raptors all around... I have a little over 16hrs on it now, I don't know how many miles. Sled runs smooth and strong. Pulls hard and hooks up well. I really like the 2.75 series 8 track and I feel like the 2022 mapping is good.

This is my first Khaos and it feels more planted than I expected... somewhere in between the AXYS Pro 163 and AXYS KHAOS 155. Some of it I attribute to track length and some I think is chassis/suspension setup. I think there are still more skid tweaks I might make to dial it in a bit more but I wanted to wait for different snow conditions before I made another change.

The cooling is a BIG improvement over the AXYS IMO. It ran the same or cooler than any AXYS in the group, plus my ice build-up was basically ZERO while they had the classic ice block on the boards and drop brackets.

I like the glovebox storage, seems pretty big and semi warm for gloves/goggles/facemasks. I do miss my underseat bag for wet storage (water bottles, tow straps, things that are soaked).

Overall two thumbs up here...

The sled is a Matryx Khaos Slash 165 2.75 with Carls re-valved Velocity shocks. Carls clutching, limiter strap mod., 210# rear track spring, Mohawk skis.
Between 150 and 200 miles on the sled at this time. NO runability issues whatsoever. Holds 8300 to 8350 RPM consistently in deep powder. Not a wheelie monster at all.

Once I got the snow to stop getting in on the belt, and the dash storage sealed up to keep powder out of it, no complaints at all.

As close as i can estimate, this sled runs about 5 degrees warmer than the 2020 Axys did on the trail. In powder, no difference at all. The area at the right toe that always got packed with snow/ice is much better, but still a ridge there that holds a little ice. The bolt heads at the feet that hold the front suspension in place are problem areas where ice builds up. Not a big deal though. As far as snow build up on the sled in general, i didn't have that problem much at all on the Axys, but the Matryx does not have that issue whatsoever. After a powder day, maybe 3-4 cups of water on the garage floor from melting off the sled.

I added the large burandt tunnel bag on the back, and it fits well. REALLY miss the under seat storage for tools, but I will get used to it. The dash storage is very large and holds more than one might think. I wish they would do a smaller dash bag like the Axys had. Loved a bag in this location!!

Maneuverability of this sled is outstanding!! Pops right up on edge with little effort and holds a sidehill line VERY well! The shorter tapered tunnel, and smaller snow flap, work better than i thought they would. This beast keeps climbing when i would have been buried with the Axys. Even though this sled is a bit longer that the 2020 Axys, you cant feel the extra length at all. As far as the way it handles, it kinda of feels more like a 155 to me, but with much better float and traction in deep powder.

Don't know the techy stuff behind it, but this sled does indeed "get up on the snow" very well. I traded back and forth from my sled to a friends Axys, and in deep powder, the Axys digs down immediately when you take off. The Matryx drops a few inches then pops up on top of the snow. I was pretty impressed with this!

Really like the factory tether, and the newly designed LED headlights are pretty bad A$$ too :)

All in all, the best sled i have ever owned! Need more snow, then hoping for many more miles of big smiles!!!

What did you do to keep the snow off the belt and out of the dash?

I added some aluminum window screen to the back of the hood vents that were allowing the snow in. Still allows air to flow, but keeps the gush of snow from coming in.

For the dash storage, i added some weather stripping to the gaps around where the lid (gauge) closes. Solved 99% of the problem.
