My sled is getting hot on icy trails

So my 2019 800 Alpha is getting hot on hard trails. Heading to McCall ID in a couple weeks and I have heard there can be some long trails rides are hard/icy trails there to get to the goods. Even with scratchers down and snow flap installed my sled gets HOT quick sometimes, above 165 degrees and once its hot it does not cool off until I can feed it some soft snow for a while. Any tricks or ideas?

Accelerate out of every corner. Same problem my wife Was having. She’s gotten down to 135 on hard trails instead of 165 now, when I’m at 120. Throttle and speed is to consistent. So snow doesn’t get spit up into tunnel easily if track isn’t spinning faster then the sled is moving on hard pack.

What he said^

Go climb something if you can. As said spinning the track is the key and it's easier to do uphill, even a small mellow one.

Fill coolant res to the cap
^^^^ this... yes, it helps. Ski
So on every Doo I have ever owned they find their own level. If you fill them to the line they just puke it out. Cat doesn’t do this? My res is down near the bottom right now, doesn’t seem like 4-5oz of coolant would make that big of a dif. I will will try that tho and see what happens.
I know about ducking off trail and getting some loose snow into the tunnel but when you buddies on Poos and Doos are just zipping down the trail without issue it tends to break up the group or just make them wait. I wanted a fix.
I will try running it harden, just figured that would just make it worse.
Thanks

From "cold fill level" u can add 12oz to the top of the reservoir.
It makes a huge difference.
It should stay full all season unless u get it real hot. Like over 200°.

This may sound odd, but at times mine will run cooler (sometimes as much as 10F or more) on the trail if I'm sitting down as opposed to standing. I believe the reason for this is when I have my azz back on the seat the rear skid compresses slightly more, which effectively lowers the snow flap so that it catches more roost/scratcher spray for cooling.
I'm not a big guy at 170lbs without gear, but if the temp light starts to flash and terrain conditions allow for sitting, I have used this trick in the past with some success. Also my sled is an ES model with the longer seat which allows for more weight shifting.
If you know that your going to be doing a lot of trail riding, you could also strap your backpack on the tunnel to shift some weight rearward also.

I have also taken a few psi out of the rear shock for the same effect, however that being said it's much easier/faster just to shift my weight around on the sled.

Not odd at all.
Last yr on my 18, i took my girlfriend for a ride on a groomed road, We doubled up on the sled. Obviously the sled sat much lower to the ground with both of us on there. My sled ran 113° for the whole 25mi trip. I had just ran that course with my buddies solo and my sled ran 122°-132°.

If i cruise faster than 55mph on my Alpha the sled runs warmer.

This is not normal there has been some water pump and T stat issues on that year. The cooling system on the Cat works good. I have rode straight ice and not heated up where other brands were stopping to cool. If you have warranty let the dealer fix it quick and easy.

MTN VIPER I am 6’ 4” and I cant sit comfortably on this sled. I literally stand all day if the sled is running. Only sled I have ever owned that I can’t sit on.
Old and slow so my sled runs 125 in soft snow no matter how hard I run it. I am a big load on a sled and in deep pow it’s getting a workout lol. If my t stat or impeller wasn’t right would I be running cool in those conditions but hot on the trail?
