My "Rock" died today...

My condolences and prayers for you and yours... Be thankful for all the happy and loving memories you have to remember him by...:(:beer; Seth

I felt your pain just before last Christmas. Lost my Dad, fought cancer & other crap for 2 years. I moved out of state back in 99 & only got to see him once a yr from then but talked all the time. He taught me EVERTHING I know now & have the world to thank him for blessing me with said talents. Ill miss him forever, but am grateful the pain is over. Its funny how when I am having a bad time with something (mechanicaly) & ask for his "guidance" & it helps, believe it or not, they are always still with you, & I find peace in that. Hope you do the same, God Bless & my condolences to you & your family.

So sorry for your loss!! loosing a loved one is always VERY difficult!

but.... reading this inspired me to email my dad. last x-mas we had a falling out and have only spoken ONCE since then. only email... and it's only me contacting him... but at least it's better than nothing... and the more i do it hopefully the more it will get better...

thanks for sharing your loss -hopefully it will help me repair a broken relationship!

Like all have said sorry to you and your family,I know first hand how it feels,my Dad passed on when I was 12 years old, your dads Soul will live forever through you my friend.Red Dog

Thanks to all of you for your thoughts and kind comments. If I live to be 1/2 the man he was, I'd consider my life a huge success.

This is a great, albiet, lol, strange at times, group. When I first ran across this 4m several years ago, I'd have never thought that I would meet such a genuinely good group of people, pounding away on keyboards over the internet; it's pretty amazing actually how tight knit this group is. I am very grateful to be included in it.

Soooo, with that, the family and I are doing ok. The last weeks, and especially the last one, were hard because he hurt so damn bad and wasn't ready to go. Mixed emotions as you know it's time, you want the pain to stop yet, he thinks his job wasn't finished yet. Apparently God had a different plan and he came to terms with it via not having a choice.

God bless you all. Thanks.

Dave and family

Thoughts and prayers are with you Dave. Be strong, the people before us were put here to guide us, mold us and makes us what we are. now it's your turn, you have been brought up right. Hold your head high and be proud.

Dave, I'm so sorry for your loss.

Thanks for sharing with us, it serves as a reminder to me not to take my family and loved ones in life for granite. You never know what tomorrow will bring.

Your dad sounds like a great man, remembering the good times will help you through the hard times.

Take care of yourself and family, if you need any thing let me know.
Chris

God bless Dave. I lost my mom in June and there were some tuff times.

Your right, all of those that I have met here on Snowest are first rate people.

Prayers for you and your family.
