My "Rock" died today...

G

Good to Go

Banned
Dad was a rock to our family. The man was the symbol for stability. I spent a lot of time the past weeks assuring him that Mom had always been so proud of him, so damn happy of her choice to marry him. I guess we all have some doubts. The man didn't say "I love you" much, but there was never a doubt that he did. His actions, his choices in life, always let those of us lucky enough to know him, know for sure his feelings.

Tough week, tough day today.

No regrets though. Life is good, and he taught me well.

Sorry for your loss Dave. Lost my dad two years ago, the annoying things he did are the things that I dream about with a smile now. The advice I didn't need then, I wished I could remember it all. The friendship that's lost will always be there. He's around, you'll see him out of the corner of your eye, and he's proud. Hang in there.

Steve

I understand what you're going through. Sounds like your old man was a lot like mine, man of few words, but of great action. Hope all works out for you the best that it can in this situation. Think only of the good memories and it will carry you a long ways - but it won't heal the pain. Find your own way to mourn or celebrate his life.
