yo guys im still gettin the 9 ready for snow!

anyhow my secondary slides in and out on the jackshaft about 3/16" even after ist bolted on, should there be this much lash? it looks like i can get rid of this slop by removing some washers behind the spacer on the retaining bolt, but how much if any side to side play should there be?

the secondary shoot float on the shaft...this is very imp, this is what aligns the clutches since 05-06 models do not have adjustable motor mounts to correct alingment...so they self-align by the secondary floating...

it should float approx. 1/4"-3/8" if i am not mistaking...amzing what you forget in the offseason.

BTW...did you get the email i sent you with the SLP arm install? your package was shipped late sat priority mail..sorry for the delay...BUSY BUSY!!

another thing.... i think i should replace my recoil rope... concerning the "hard to get at bolt" on the recoil housing.... can i remove the 6 motor mount bolts, and slide the motor up enought to get the bolt out? without unhooking and un-plumbing the motor entirely, and completely removing the engine??

guido, yes i got your email, thanks, sorry i didnt reply i was up in MI pickin up a new sled trailer, and well... i was using the phone for a gps unit and wasnt really paying attention to my msgs!!

sooo theres really no need to buy a clutch alignment tool, to check clutch alignment/offset on these 900's ? !

well...its still important to assure your alignment is correct and the secondary slides enough each dierection for it to "self align" but the thing is...if its off, or if its good you just spent like $30 on something that you cant adjust anyways, lol..i never got a tool myself...but maybe your local deal would lend you one if you did it in the parking lot?? just a thought...

got the intake and belt guard all finished, dash vents installed, clutch came back from indy spec. they did alot of good work to it well worth the $125 for the full clutch service!, this 900 runs sooo smoothe, look at all the holes they drilled to balance the primary, i re'assembled everything and started her up tonite! dammit does this sled sound good!

i still wanna do something with this ugly tunnel, i gotta cover up that cooler some how, i drew some prints for a tunnel rack, and sent them to the laser to be cut so we'll see how they look

oh and yeah im gettin an outwears for the k&n :)

oh shoot almost forgot my bixenon hid headlight bulbs :face-icon-small-coo love those things! they r workin great except the hi beam indicator is always on now, hmmm must have something to do with my wiring!

Welcom to the Club. I lkie the Blue colors on hte Switches

How long is the Track ?? Gearing ??

Haha the oem tunnel plastis what I don't like! Just didn't havem in the pics. Just a 144" im a flatlander but im 6'8" 300# wich is why I went for this bigdaddy. Stock gearing

havce any of you guys done anything to to clean up the tunnel ext/cooler on the back of these sleds, i hate those 2 hoses and that cooler back there! can anything be done to convert to a newer looking rmk stlye tunnel extension! perhaps a different cooler that mounts under the tunnel?

There are a few companies making coolers that go under the tunnel. They cost a lot though, but would be a good addition on the 900's because their cooling was pretty inadequate on the trails.

got any more info?? i dont find much info on snowest about removing n replacing the rear cooler on the 900's

Saw this on another forum. The guy installed old style polaris running board coolers in the tunnel.

looks like im gunna have to stud my SB!! i got 1.325" woodys on the way, my sled has the 1.25" cross country track, with this stud / lug combo the studs should stick above the track .25-.375", am i going to need tunnel protectors on my 2006 900 switchback??? i have stock drivers and stock suspension! im assuming my sled shares its tunnel with the rmk's which uses a taller paddle, so im assuming i'd be ok. but i wanna know for sure!

your closest clearance will be at the front of the track between the paddles and the front cooler. There is about 2 3/4 inches there with the RMK's guessing you are the same. Just make sure you don't run your track loose, which I don't think is actually possible on a 900.

I've been thinking about the tunnel protector issue and... correct me if im wrong, but the only place that the track can move closer to the tunnel is behind the rear top idler wheels?? If that is indeed true im not going through the bs of tunnel protectors.
