My ghetto, beat up, mod sled.

Yeah it's a ton of fun. Still gotta get graffoil seals for the exhaust flanges, exhaust springs, and build some glass pack stingers. Later this week I'm getting some white powder hounds with black loops. Should look pretty sick.

Yeah the sled just screams trouble maker lol. My mom saw it the other day and she knows what 420 is lol, she's like...hmm, those 419 numbers is pretty close to the real thing. I replied, well mom you know me, I hate to be late for anything!! Once I get the slydogs bolted in and the stingers made up I'll get some really good action pics. This thing is only a 2 speed, off and WOT. I like to go along the Parks Hwy a little after 5 and pin it on the trail and ride a cat walk while passing traffic. I get alot of different reactions. The yuppies that just moved here and don't know how we roll, usually think I'm totally out of control and ponder calling the police. Cool thing is I wired it all up so I can go to complete blackout mode at night. No lights what so ever. If I ever decide to rob a bank this is gonna be my get away ride.

look real close at the mag side front motor mount. It's a 1/2 grade 8 bolt and a hockey puck cut down to fit. After it was totaled the motor snapped that mount and left the threaded part lodged in the mount. Had to over drill it and go up in size. Let's see how long a hockey puck lasts. I hear when they get cold they crack. Hopefully it'll stay warm enough within the bellypan. I was out of options. Hell, if it works I might do all mounts with pucks. I aint payin no 20 bucks a pop for 90 durometer mounts. These pucks are well beyond 90 duro.

Heres a view from the pilots POV. That is indeed a 1 inch rig strap for a mtn. bar and it's cinched down with cable clamps so it stays put.

another sweet lil mod for the guys that run aftermarket bars. Take a 20oz pop bottle...I prefer mtn. dew because I like the color. Cut strips out of the bottle just big enough to go around your bars and slip them under your master cylinder and anything that clamps to your bars. It helps tighten up the gap, but most importantly will keep you from breaking levers. If you come down on your throttle or brake hard enough the whole thing will rotate on the strips of pop bottle. Allowing you to put it right back. Way better than braking things off. This is a trick I learned from dirt biking. Try it guys, it works. Never tried it on steel oem bars. I have renthal bars on my RMK and my KX 125 that is also ported and piped. Sick bike for a guy my size. Little guys have a ton of fun since the sled hardly notices our weight.

Pebs, nice looking sled. Could you post some close up pics of your side dump exhuast?

Thanks

I will when I get it done. It's something I've been wanting to do for a long time. I'll do a good job and thiers gonna be an aluminum plate bezle around the twin stingers poking out. The stinger ends are gonna be slash cut. It'll fit the sled really well.:face-icon-small-coo

In regards to your sled:

That thing is just begging to be rode hard and put away wet. Function >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Form

Hey guys,
Man that totaly reminds me of my 01 ZX 800, I miss that sled. I had parts from AC, pol, and skidoo on it and it still looked good, I rode it for 7 years and I wish I still had it for back up and just to ride sometimes. The back of your tunnel is the same as mine had. I put the back of a polaris tunnel on it for the taper and just rivited it on, and my coolant lines were on the side just like that. good memories.

Pebs...try coating your hockey pucks with Vaseline....or jerkins if you perfer ;)

Seriously....It will keep them from drying out.

What kind of clear coolant tubing did you use?

I dig the Caddy badge on the windshield cowl :beer;:beer;
