My ghetto, beat up, mod sled.

I have to plagerize one of my biker bro's that builds some nasty chops to describe that thing, "that thing is purpose built and punk as F***!!" I like it!

Nice sled. Loose the bolts on the tunnel extension though. Either pop or solid rivet it on (unless you plan on crashing it soon, then it's be alot easier to just unbolt! hahaha)
Oh and keep the track holes lined up. They're not studs. You wanna lign them up to keep as many continuous cords as you can around the track.
Looks solid though.
My sleds a 418! I got you beat to the party!

Not sure what you mean by track holes? The holesaw cuts?, or the windows? I kinda dig all the bolts holding on my speed limit sign tunnel braces IMO.

Anyways, here's where I am. Got all my exhaust parts from SLP tonight and started kinda mocking things up. The tube ID is 33mm which is perfect from what SLP says, and I should make the overall stinger length 24" to keep the pipes tuned. The bends in the 90's that I ordered are so close radius that it looks as if the pipes are gonna wanna dump somewhere in the side of the hood. The back of the pipes kick up pretty high once theyre fastened to the exhaust flanges with the springs. I'm sure with a little bit of finesse I might get em to dump just under the top trim of the bellypan. Going straight down thru the bottom of the belly pan would be too easy lol. Slydogs are bolted up and I made some D-ring fasteners for on the back of the tunnel to hold a fuel can for when I take trips out to the cabin. Once the stingers are completed she's ready to ride. Everything else has been thoroughly checked out and dealt with.:beer;

This is where they wanna exit currently...What do you guys think? I could build an aluminum plate bezel with 2 holes and rivet it around the stingers? I personally would like em to go out the belly pan but this is where they really wanna go...i dunno, whats all your thoughts?

You really need to hole saw a bunch of vents in your hood and cover them with dog screen. Highly functional and fits the style.

Glad to see someone else that builds hillbilly sleds.

Can you go out the back of the shock tower through the belly pan? Otherwise how about at the back of the belly pan.

I just thought of this. The Powderhounds just cost me 354.00 for everything out the door. THats the most expensive part on this thing. Pipes were 126 shipped. Other exhaust parts came out to about 150. Throw in a hundred bucks for the frequent trips to the hardware store. Original purchase price of $300.00 (three hundy)...I'm just right around $1000.00 bucks for the whole build....Nice!

Yeah the sled just screams trouble maker lol. My mom saw it the other day and she knows what 420 is lol, she's like...hmm, those 419 numbers is pretty close to the real thing. I replied, well mom you know me, I hate to be late for anything!!

I had to steal that for fb. That's hilarious!

Naww the tunnel braces are cool and seeing as you only got a grand into the sled, nevermind the rivets. Did a new tunnel job with mostly bolts once, it worked, but always thought about all the ones I couldn't see. "Were they coming loose?"
I meant the drilled holes in your track. Never drilled one w/ holes offset, but seems it would weaken the track more than holes inline.
Sweet sled anyway. Used to build some good garage monsters when I had the time......most inspired by the "mechanics helper"......aka 4:20!

Stingers are done.

Pics coming soon.

I finished up the stingers on the pipes with side dumps. It's nice and really really loud. Also, it freakin hauls a$$ on a straight away if it can hook up. Has that nice flesh tearing rip to the exhaust tone. Slydogs hook up freakin awesome, makes the entire sled feel a ton lighter on hardpack. I can lock up the brakes and toss a 151x2 track around a corner without it feelin tippy. Great ski's and carbides. Plugs and wash all look good for now, but we blew some base gaskets. But I'm still gonna ride it a little bit while the new ones come in. I'm going up in mains by one and gonna run premix in addition to the oil injection in the meantime. It's plenty fast when it's jetted fat.

Heres some pics from when I started the stingers. It's all done now but no pics of it completed. It's loud, and it likes to load up when carving on that side so I need to build some kind of a shield or something.

Blew a base gasket and you're still going to run it? I call the next engine issue you have will be crank bearings, regardless of running a little premix. Dangerous proposition man.
