My 4K mile maintenance job

Where do I get a cool Snowest sticker like that to put on my windshield?:face-icon-small-ton

LOL, I got a couple a few years back at the puyallup snow show:cool: I don't know if they still have simple ones like that or not....

Well I got out for the first ride of the year and the sled ran great all in all... Throttle response with the new motor mounts was really good and noticeable. I was running what I considered really hot on the clutches, but I still haven't had time to clean them so they do have 800 miles worth of riding to consider.

I ran pre-mix in the tank for insurance against air in the oil lines, but it was sucking it down at what I considered a normal rate for the amount of riding we got in today (25 miles) so I am not worried about it and the coolant level stayed consistent with all the burping I did to it the other day:D

My only concerns at the moment are than my speedometer was going totally crazy so I think I need to inspect/replace the sensor, and my high-beams are not working so I need to investigate that and see if it is the switch or a loose wire somewhere.

Other than that, she ran like a top and I surpassed the 4K mile mark today returning to the trailer with 4,013 miles:D:D

My Summer off-season this year lasted 147 Days!

The new 06 motor mounts definitely feel a little stiffer and I can feel more vibration in my feet than I was expecting, but thanks in part to some new gel grips, my hands were surprisingly insulated from the shakes of this beast:D

I would highly recommend these to anyone who hates the small diameter grips Polaris uses... much larger and easier to grip, and a lot more vibration dampening as well:cool:

Well it's been almost 2 full seasons since I did my motor mount and maintenance job (and I went through the clutches 1 or 2 rides later) and I just finally today pulled out about a half inch of cord out of my belt... 700 miles since new motor mounts and about 650 since new clutching. I'm thinking I put the new belt on at that time. From the looks of the rest of it I should be able to run it a while longer yet and just monitor that cord.

My clutching is due for a change as I haven't touched it since the beginning of last season right after I did the mounts so I know it's due. In the belt's defense though I was riding the thing HARD today, I did probably about 10 pulls almost back to back and spent probably close to 2 hours at the climb and she was HOT when I stopped for a much needed break. Track speed has been down this year more often than not, I'm not sure if it's due to a sacked out primary spring or if it's just the sleds way of showing it's age... I'm now over 4700 miles total on the sled with 1 rebuild @ 2K miles before I purchased it 4 seasons ago.

I'm glad to report however that I STILL "Love This Sled!!!!!" It may not always get the highmark on the hill, but it always does a great job of keeping up and getting me where I need to go... I can't ask for more than that! I love the way this thing sidehills too... I actually have not found a sled that I enjoy sidehilling as much as this 900, it just does it SO WELL!

Anyway, I just thought I would drop a post off with an update on my aging ride... 4722 miles on the clock this evening and still putting a big smile on my face!:face-icon-small-hap:face-icon-small-hap

Today at White Pass

hey i got my 06 900 motor back in started on the third pull ran good but check engine flashed in sequance of 7. Went out 5 days later to see if i could find the problem after finding out what the code reading was and the dam thing would'nt start. After several pulls it back fired with enough force to blow the sprig off between the muffler and the can. Any idea's?
thanks
