ZX Chassis / MXZ 700 Suspension Mods ? Long tracking...
I have a 2000 MXZ 700 that I have extened to a 136". I want to go longer. I just acquired a 153" x 2.25 x 15" Maverick track. I'm going to switch my drivers over to 7 tooth 3" pitch drivers. If I have to roll my chaincase to get it to fit, I will.
As of now I just have my Sc2 with 136" hillcross rails. The rails are cracked so I plan on replacing them. What would you guys recommend as far as rails? I'm thinking a set of Ice age rails.
Also I've heard of setting the skid back to improve flotation. Would this be a good idea? And if I did what size rails would I need?
I'm a decent fabricator with aluminum and am a mechanical engineer (well, 4th year student). I've worked on sleds all my life so I can handle the wrenching / fabricating. I'm just lacking in knowing what works and what doesn't. Any help would be appreciated, thanks.
