Muff Pot on pro

Nice, to get at it do you have to take the side and top panels off?

Posting a video? I don't think SW uploads videos or pictures to the server. I think you need to put it on youtube then link it in.

That's gonna be a bugger to get to without taking the hood off, isn't it?

Most people are using the "hot pot" (not muff pot) and mounting it as was mentioned above (where pipe and can meet).

What you have done is a nice place to have another option for having hot food...provided it can be accessed easily.

Cheers!

With hood attached all you have to do is undo side panel at the top and reach in and pull it out fits nicely even with my big paws. By turning it sideways you can get to the latch and it stays away from the pipe sensor.
Some peeps follow some peeps lead I just wander aimless lee thru life !!!

BS, I did pretty much the same thing as you've done there last year, the only differance is I mounted the pot the other way (stock) and then swapped the oven mitt for a wire bail attached to the muff pot. I could lower the side panel and reach in, flip the retaining latch, grab the wire bail and remove the whole thing with no burned fingers. You know how important food is to me!! :face-icon-small-win Putting it back was easy because it was cooled down my then.
The whole thing worked great unil the base broke in the middle . . . seemed almost as if I had whacked a tree really hard ?!?! :face-icon-small-con

Anyway, I broke down and went with Tammy's vent option this year. Can't play around with lunch ! And it will be easier for Diana to manage too. :face-icon-small-hap

The only reason I but it on at all was for you Bagger I am going on a liquid diet.I started living healthy last week I found this drink called Naked and it is all natural blueberrys, rasberry, bananas and apples and some other healthy stuff it is awesome and I mix a little potato vodka with it and I feel soooo healthy.
I thought about the wire idea but opted to turn it side ways.
Can,t wait to see you folks again

I have mine mounted like that except turned 90 degrees. It rattled loose when i started it in the garage so I put some heat wrap between the hose clamp and the pipe on the opposite side of the pipe from the base. I also put some red loctite and safety wired it and tightened the piss out of it so hopefully its not going anywhere. With the hood on I can reach in there and fiddle with it. I also wrapped the o2 sensor on the pipe with heat wrap so it doesn't rub on the muffpot.

I am so confused by the Muff Pot "questions". I mounted mine where the pipe and can meet with zero problems. Open the side panel and remove lunch. Pretty simple. No oven mitts, wire, or other contraptions. I think Snowest has a ton of good info, but sometimes people over analyze the weirdest stuff. Let it snow.

I heard that they did not heat as well by the can and you had to buy or fabricate something to raise it up to attach.
2cool vents makes a removable vent so you can reach your cooker easier next to the y pipe where it has better heat. Thanks Tammy for thinking outside the box I am glad some people still can.
Mine did not cost anything but time and a little brain power and no you do not need a oven mitt to remove it and I do not have to take the side panel off either.
Aebsledder I am not trying to beat a dead horse with this just thought it might help someone out like I said before some lead some follow

Beamslayer, Do you own drifters bar in Emida? I go that way sometimes headed to freezeout, and summertime on the R6 doing a loop.

Yes I own Drifters and we give a discount to sledders. Stop in and say Hi. I also carry Amsoil but the best part is the Dragon burger with homemade fries topped off with the coldest beer in Emida.
Not many in our group ride freezeout only you crazy guys. I heard it is awesome once you get past the rock if you can see to get out.Have you ever ridden in the lost hunter area or up by the look out in Emida.

When I redesigned my base I ground out the bottom bracket to fit the pipe and drilled a hole in the plate to access the clamp easier. My old cooker used to come loose when it got hot I think it had alot to do with the aluminum ears expanding I doubled clamped it and never had a problem again.Only time will tell if it does not work than I will move it.

Does somebody have a link for the removeable vents so I can order a pair

M8, I have a set of these on each sled, and while I haven't had a chance to try 'em out on a ride :face-icon-small-con, the construction and workmanship is topnotch.
I can't see a thing wrong with 'em at this point.

I did the reach in the side thing last year . . . didn't care for the hassle which is worse when you have the spare belt in place. Thought about putting it on the pipe right before the can, but kept reading about 2 hours of cooking time . . . I'm used to getting hungry, popping lunch in the cooker and hitting it hard for about 20 mins and eating while I rest up from the blast.

So I'm hoping the hood vents work as good as they look, if not, back to the drawing board.

I can always just follow BeamSlayer around, he does these shrimp in a paper bag that are to die for!!!!
