MTX hard turning issue, spring snow

Where did you get the greasable replacements??

Danny Gueco at Eagle River Racing in Alaska, (907) 694-1600. I sent him my spindles to get welded also as he drills the spindles out and makes the bushings custom fit. It is an expensive route to go (~300) but I was only down for the week. Since the riding season is getting over, I would just take it to the dealer and let them work on it.

On another note, my dealer didn't know anything about the problem, till I brought them to him to punch out.... he was shocked with how bad those were...

Hmmmm...what a shocker...a dealer who claims not to know about a problem that a LOT of owners are having!!! Same with the front subframe, and the reverse bolt in the chaincase. Many that I have spoken to said their dealer told them it was "the first we've heard about it" What a crock!!

I tell you, a good dealer if getting impossible to find.

Ruffy, glad you found a fix for the stock front end...did you go to a different heim joint from the sh!tty stockers?

Taken apart my chaincase a couple of times... bolt is still in there fine... and I beat the crap out of my reverse... wwwrrrrrrriiiiinnnnnnnggggg, clunk.. lol

Need a better definition than heim.. I think there are 3-4 different words for the joints on the spindle alone. Are you talking about the top one on the spindle? I haven't noticed much play in that one and I had them machined 2.5 mm. I got the Oil-lite bushings sitting in the shed, and will check things out when they get installed. I guess I will get to see how much slop there still is... I know the spindle to ski junction has some slop as well, though what sled doesn't.

Any of the ball joints are technically heim joints...just wondering if the one you had the grease fitting installed is also a stock joint?

The lower heim joint on the spindle was replaced with a different kind. I think it is only 30 bucks or so a piece, but it requires machining of the spindles and spacers to be made. I think it is an automotive or racing style. There are a couple of washers and other stuff that were needed to make it work. The lower heim has a ring machined around the outside to allow it to take grease.
