MTNTK's Hot Air Eliminator AKA "THE BLOWHOLE"

NOT A PROBLEM!

For the people who are running this- How dirty does your clothing get from the belt dust blowing on you? Love the idea, but not if my $1200 in riding gear gets blackened.

Quote- "It is located in this spot to suck out all belt dust immediately."

Yes it is located directly over the secondary clutch so it sucks out the hot air and brings cold air through from the other side. As far as getting your $1200 gear black, not a problem. There is not a huge cloud of smoke that comes out, as far as the belt dust it is minimal at best.

I also saw it at the SLC snow show. I would not think any other venting would be needed it moves a lot of air, so much you may want a on/off switch if it does not have one. I would assume if a switch were used you could just find the hot in the blow hole harness and install a switch, should be only two wires. Hot and Ground.

i think this is a no brainer. sure is a lot better than installing static venting. with the static venting we have all used, when you really need it you tend to either be traveling to slowly or/and they are completely covered by snow. traveling down a trail at speed when they are not really necessary seems to be the only time they are really effective. at least from my experience. and i've used all kinds of different venting options. before this option was out i had pretty much the same idea, even bought a blower fan. was in the process of figuring out where/how to mount it when i saw this for the first time. it is slightly expensive but it looks like they did a great job with it so it is worth my time to just pay for this rather than try to engineer something myself. i do agree that a switch is an absolute must, and not sure why that isn't an option as it seems pretty simple to do. my only other concern would be snow and ice getting into and on the fan, shortening its life span. but it might not be an issue. the blowhole is at the top of my "to get" list

I will be running one this year, I have high hopes of being about to actually run a belt for more then 5 days.

yeah, i'd really like to get more than 500 miles out of a belt. yes my clutches are aligned correctly, and yes my clutching is setup well. i'm just hard on belts

Not sure if I'm following everything through properly or not, but I thought I read that the blowhole could be run on either ac or dc. If this is the case, could a guy not just cut the blowhole fan in to one side or the other of the headlight control, so for instance you could switch to dim at night for your lights and use the bright side of the switch to power the blowhole fan during the day?
 
Sorry for my last post, it was poorly worded. You would also need an ac/dc rectifier and 12vdc voltage regulator between the light switch and fan motor since I believe the lighting circuit is 16vac. But once that's done it should allow plenty of power to run a blowhole fan along with all turbo accesories. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Super excited to work with MTNTK this year. The blow hole moves A LOT of air. Haven't had a chance to ride with it yet, but feeling how much air it moves at the show it should keep things nice and cool under the hood. :face-icon-small-coo
 
BLOW HOLES IN STOCK AGAIN

We have Just received a stock pile of MTNTK's BLOW HOLES, so all those of you that have Backordered Blow Holes from PMS, we have been shipping them out as of yesterday. Also if you have Pics of the Blow Hole on your sled please post thanks.
