Moving to Montrose late Janurary....lets ride

Man you get to live in all the cool spots in life ... Vernal, Kalispell, now Montrose?

;)

Dave, Congrats, We are closed this winter but the lot will be plowed quite a bit. If it is you are more than welcome to park there. Tell Zeke to show up!

Alright Dave... If you really want to know where the good stuff is, get ahold of me and we can show you around. Persoanlly I think Barlow is total crap and the Mesa is just that, a flat topped mountain.

Molas Pass 12/14...

Red Mtn Pass 12/21 in the storm...

Owl Creek Pass 12/22...

Just some of the places I ride, all pics from this season.

Appreciate THAT:thumb:

You guys left us some sweet riding spots in that valley.

Can't take credit for all of that - some of the bigger clearings are from logging way back. We were up in there in the '80's chasing beetles back when the USFS wasn't hamstrung by all the environmentalists and they were actually able to get in front of a beetle infestation. We stopped 'em up there and we stopped 'em on the plateau and saved a lot of timber in the process. Now look at the mess we're in. anyway -

Haven't hardly ridden that country since high school - still looks awesome! Might have to load up and ride up there again! Do you access from Owl Creek or Silverjack?

Owl Creek because I live in Ridgway. One of the ranches on the OC side has been grooming regularly back into the West Fork. looked like the club had done the SJ side and there were maybe two tracks there Christmas eve.

As ouraysledder said, Barlow and mesa suck. Better off riding his spots and staying away from the mesa. ;-)

By all means... ride with the experts, were EVERYBODY else rides. Enjoy crowded parking lots and acces roads beat to death. Nobody comes back to ride with us a second time anyway. Those flatter more traveled areas are probably best for most.

My my, Dave was just letting everyone know he is moving and it turns into a Mesa bash fest. Dave's ridden the Mesa before. As for any of us on the Mesa especially Bohica, I am pretty sure we would not be scared of your big bad mountains. Hell it appears you had to have it logged just so you could ride! If it can be logged I am pretty sure anyone on here can ride it.
As for the Mesa being flat and the access roads beat to death (not sure about that as we don't ride the roads but you must) next time you come up give one of us a call and we show you how to get out of the parking lot! The Mesa is anything but flat!!!!!!!!!!
Just had to chime in as uninformed so called experts really bother me.

You shouln't be... most people are simply scared of the big mountains and prefer riding the flat mesa. Good for you trying to turn it around into a personal insult though???
