Mounting Gas Can?

lol...dealer installed mine. After looking at the BRP accessories catalog, it appears that is the way they intended it.

Mounting gas can and bag on a 146"

Well, I guess I'm not alone in this one...I've looked at every way possible to mount the gas can and the factory semi-rigid case (originally for the MXZ) for the back and this is what I came up with. As you can see, it is possible to have it all with a 146, and I'm pretty sure the soft bag won't work. If you notice, I have 2 non-SD rubber straps across the bag in an X pattern, as a tribute to the sled's name. I hope this helps my plight, as I've gone through too many of the soft bags with torn zippers, lost several hundred dollars in parts, sno-bunjes, gloves, goggles, etc. Also, that is indeed non-SD duct tape on the buckles to keep them from backing out.
If this doesn't work, I'll be giving a thoughtful commentary on the quality and durability of the factory accessories provided by BRP.
By the way, mounting the gas can like this seems OK in this configuration. Also, I think I'll be less likely to kick the buckle undone, as I've done in the past under extreme side-to-side movements.
Wish me luck:D

I have a very small picture with the install instructions and it shows the can mounted with the V of the gas can mated with the black plastick of the Tail light essembly!!! It would fit like a glove. What would be the draw back of having it so far back??

Keep it forward, it will feel alot heavier the farther back it is, especially when climbing.
