MOTORFIST GEAR Your Thoughts?

Stompers

Just picked up a pair yesterday. So far so good. Thought they was really comfoy compared to the klim adrenaline's. Kinda disappointed that they didn't come with atleast one sticker. Woulda really looked good on the new pro :)

I love my Valkyrie gloves, been using them for 3 years now. IMO any leather glove needs a product like sno seal melted into the leather to help make it waterproof. I do this to my gloves a couple times a year.

Sno-Seal and others like it are legit and will help GREATLY the length of the glove life and keeping the water out of the glove.

other questions....

We do make "short" inseamed models. Tall guy don't get all the love :)

No sticker for the gloves huh. Well I can help! PM me the size of decal(s) for your sled with address ect. Don't forget the truck and trailer:face-icon-small-win

The thread is solid now that we have a "Beavis" line in it. Just say'n.

3rd season on my WOT gloves. LOVE them. Have about 1200 miles on them.

Stayed very dry and warm.
Have NEVER swapped em out during they day. EVER.

Until the last two rides. Both rides, they got soaked (one was indeed a very wet day, the other was sunny and dry)

Time to grease the palms.

Sno-Seal, you say?

If the glove (the leather/exterior) can get wet. The exterior of the glove will get wet. It is not waterproof on just about any glove.

There is a membrane inside the glove (like a diaper!) that actually keeps the moisture out.

Sometimes the glove will be soaking wet. Even to the point it will freeze as stiff as (enter your analogy here) but your hand is dry inside. That is because the exterior lets water in (like it should) but the membrane is working and not letting it get to your bare hand.

If your hand itself is wet you have an issue. Something is up, but try Sno-Seal first it may help. In any case the Sno-Seal will help longevity.

Glad we could get some decent convo's started in here. And to those telling their thoughts, thank you for being honest and open and turning into a pom pom rally. It is inspiring to see a thread with what I can tell thus far as useful information.

Yup, I use Sno seal on all my leather palms and boots as well as soon as I get them.

Yep, it's been like that. Now my hands looked like prunes the last two rides.

Oh, you got me on the inseam... I was looking at a dealer sites and did not find them listed. On the MotorFist site they were right there... time to do some shopping.

Could it be from sweating? My last 2 weekends were 50+ deg. At 5k and up. I was soaked from head to toe. But I guaranty it wasnt from snow getting in. Just asking!

Could be. Don't think so though.
I had my hands in the snow about the same as normal. Temps were about as normal as I've had this year (20 and 25 both of those rides).

Same amount of digging in the snow with my hands.

Pretty much everything the same except for wet hands.

I'll do some recon this weekend and see if I can keep my hands out of the snow all the while sweating like a snowmobiler at a Sierra Club rally.

The zipper on my Rekons started to come apart right at the knee.

Filled out my form online.
Dropped them in the mail at 4:50 PM on Monday night.

Got this email today (Weds 1:00PM).

(that means the pants got there to MF in ID Falls, they opened it, made their assessment, and got back to me all in less than 48 hours)

Bought the rekon bibs and jacket for christmas and didn't recieved my free wot gloves or socks.. E-mailed with no response. After spending almost 800 on gear, new matching gloves would of been nice.... I do like the gear so far, though a little tight around the sleves... :face-icon-small-coo

I like their bibs. Had a small issue with torn liner and it was fixed quickly without question. Never been wet and I like the leg zipper on the outside so I dont have to be some sort of contortionist to unzip at the end of the day....like a certain competitor did with their leg zipper....what is up with that, putting the zipper on the back of your ankle? Please dont do this, thanks! :face-icon-small-win

I have the Rekon pans redline bibs, and redline gloves

the gloves are crap, get wet fast, they are cold. pants fall down with my backpack, but are dry and warm. the bibs are tight in the waist for their size, but warm and dry.

I have Rekon Bibs, WOT Gloves and Stomper Boots.

Gloves are good. Not super warm, but stay dry. I have Pro with a low windshield, so nothing I wasn't expecting.

Boots are great, I stay dry. One day I unloaded my sled in my shoes and got my socks wet. I figured I was in for a wet foot day, but after having the boots on for an hour my foot was dry. I also have very sweaty feet, but even with that my feet stay dry. I'm very impressed.

Mixed emotions on the Bibs. I stay dry and the fit is very good, but have quality complaints. 3 of the 4 pockets have torn, two of which are useless. Also have a small tear in the back between the stretchy material and event fabric and one of the buttons on the legs broke off. I have about 15 rides on them. Not impressed with the quality, but again I stay warm and dry, so can't complain much.

I have the Valkyries (2013) and the WOTs (2012 and 2013) I like the 13s better.

They keep my hands warm and dry. Moisture wicks away fast in them. If I put them on with damp hands I can take them back off 10 minutes later and not pull them inside out like other gloves. The leather does get wet but what do you expect? You usually end up digging a stuck out with your hands anyways, rather than take the pack off and use the shovel..

If I can find some sno-seal this weekend I will treat all of my gloves. It used to be whenever you bought a set of leather palmed gloves from any maker they included a little tube of sno-seal and you did it right away.

I have found that I can use a pair of gloves for several seasons if I only use them for sledding. Loading and unloading, adding oil and fueling up I always pull out the old beat up Klim gloves.

I feel like a contortionist too (I have a pair of 2012 KLIM freerides also).

I WILL note, that the zipper on the heel doesn't have a giant snowball on it at the end of the day.

The ONLY thing I don't like with my Rekon bibs is the gator hook that hooks over the laces. It always pops off and ends up letting snow in my boots. I'd love to see a fix.

Thanks for the Replies...

Did you buy them from Motorfist or from a retailer? If it was from a retailer, they should have included a slip for you to fill out and send in with your tags and receipt for proof of purchase. If it was from Motorfist they should have just came with the package. Either way, im sure I am not tellin ya anything you didn't know. I would PM MFGuy on here as generally the person using that username is Brad Ball, the owner of Motorfist. They will take care of you, I guarantee it, and if they dont and you can prove what you bought I will personally send you a set.

We have gotten EVERYTHING we had issues with this year whether it be 2012 gear or 2013 gear taken care of for our customers. And having the blue bird policy where you get a pair to ride in while your are being fixed has proven to work out well too. Have you attempted to get the bibs warranted? I have zero doubt in mind that they will take care of you if this stuff is happening to the seams and pockets. If you need contact information send me a PM!

I will agree, this is something that bugged me on my Rekons, with that said I don't know of a pant yet that i actually like the gators and hooks. All the ones that have metal I tend to bend, anything with a button I seem to break, and anything with velcro fills with snow and doesn't stick.
