Motorcycle guys... Info please.

I had a klr 600 years ago, Great bike and have been looking for another. You could hit the dirt roads or easy trails on the way home if wanted

I had 2 Yamaha R1's and got around 45-50 mpg just commuting to work. Dude your R6 should easily be around 50 mpg. you sure on that 35?? My guess is you cant stay off the throttle.. lol. :)

I ride my R6 like it's meant to be ridden, sounds like you rode your R1 like a girl. :face-icon-small-win:D j/k. Ya I am a little hard on the throttle on my R6, I suppose if I layed off I could get 40-50 MPG.

A buddy I work with has a 'Zooki RMZ 450 street legal deal, absolutely loves it. If mileageis what yer after, get a Honda CBR 125, gets 100 mpg lol...
or have a midlife crisis like me and get a Hog lol...

I had a supermoto version of that suzuki 400 2 years ago. Fun bike, great mileage but if you are used to street bikes, it will feel like a terd. I would rec. not getting the supermoto version of anything if you like to go off road alot as well. Those street tires are not the best when yo get off the gravel.

I get about 35 MPG on my R6. Not sure what the bikes you listed get for MPG but I bet it's about the same. If you figure the truck gets 15 MPG(no idea what you drive) and the bike gets 35 MPG, you will save $200 a month. It will take 20 months of riding the bike to work to break even.

i understand your math, but he can always resell the bike and make over 3/4 of the original price he paid, as long as you buy used.

mule, use to ride rockets....r6 first than a r1. just for work they are fine. insurance is high as other have said. go with a enduro, use for work and weekend and be done. street and dirt, cant go wrong. you will give alittle on the street and in the dirt, but you can enjoy both as others need two bikes.:beer;:beer;
