Motor mounts

So I did a search and read all the old threads on what to do to stiffen the motor mounts. I didn't really see what works and what doesn't. The ftx plate looks solid but if doing stock mounts with a torque stop is working would be more cost effective. Just wondering what is working. Thanks

I would just run a torque stop and change the mounts every couple years depending upon wear from my own personal experience.
I tried running mount with a stiffer durometer and kept breaking bolts. Not fun checking oil on morning of day two only to find pieces of bolts rolling around inside and even less fun trying to get the pieces left inside the motor brackets the self.

Is there one torque arm that is better than the other. Do you need the arms for both sides of the motor

boost it makes a solid torque stop. havnt even pulled a thread since i installed it.

I used the FTX 6 mount motor plate, I chewed up two sets of mounts when I cranked the old girl up bit. It helped with the bulkhead flex as well keeps the belt alignment in check. It is a bit pricey though, but a solution to busted up mounts.

Do they still make that plate? I didn't see it on their website

You need to call Curt and see if he has one sitting there. He makes a run of them, then sells them till they are gone. Then he makes another run again.

IF I remember right, it comes with new motor mounts. If you were to go buy motor mounts and torque stop, you would be into it, what about $250-300. So that's half your plate....
