I checked compression tonight and clutch side was 90 and exhaust side 95. I'm at 5550 ft in elevation. 800 155 with 900 miles, been running doggy on the top end. What should compression be at my elevation? Thanks

test methods and testers can all read different, plus there's a correction factor for your higher altitude vs sea level. Numbers are close, so that's usually a good sign. What exactly is it doing?

It has no top end hp, I'm tacking at 7800- 7900 rpm. New belt, new primary spring, clutches clean and look good, track tension good, throttle cable good,I'm gonna pull exhaust valves tomarrow.

Why not take it to the dealer and have them do the work? It should still be under warranty . . . right?

My sled, tested at 6200ft with a MAC Tools gauge was 105psi at 100 miles and 105psi at 500 Miles. Engine was room temp (65*), both spark plugs removed, throttle held wide open, 5-6 strong pulls.

Still could be as simple as a belt issue. I bought 2 new belts from the dealer that were both out of spec, too narrow and too long. Eric

It is headed to Vickery motorsports in Denver Saturday. It would be there sooner but I-70 is closed to a large rockslide in Glenwood Canyon. I tested it in a heated garage 7 pulls wide open both plugs out. Saturday and Sunday it only pulled 78-7900 rpm. I think it's conformation when I'm only seeing around 90 psi in each cylinder. Talking with Vohk today and he said they have seen 2 other 16 Axys with smoked top ends.

For future diag/testing its always good to take some compression readings when the sled is running good with low miles on it. Then you have a bench mark to compare to. Use the same gauge and same method. Good luck! Eric

Its still basically the same motor as the pro. So its for sure posible.

Since you are stuck on the West side take it to Doc Holiday's in GWS.

Your joking right

My sarcasm meter is all f'd up tonight. The motors don't have much difference other than pistons.. same cranks and rods, same cases, same cylinders, same head..

Piston are same basic specs, redesigned, cranks are diffferent they are lightweight porkchop. Cylinder is slightly different with the new exhaust valves. Ill probably put a fix kit in mine ar about 1000 miles. Ill have to see how it will work with my slp pipe and if (probably will) it need a fuel controller

Different oil pump, exhaust valves, reeds, injectors and pistons (not to mention clutching and air plenum). Pretty much the same though. If you are referring to bore and stroke then I agree.

Bore stroke rod length. Im just saying the problems that the pro engine had are going to still effect the axys engine. All they did was put grooves in the pistons.
