Mods for the gals?

Somewhere between too dumb to quit and flat earth
What kind of mods do the women tend to prefer? Looking for things to do to the sled to make the girlfriend more happy. I am thinking a taller windshield (it doesn’t have one right now) and hand guards.

Anything else? The bars are the perfect height, has a 36” ski stance so it’s easier to carve with. I was thinking about putting the RSI gell raps on depending on how I like mine and I think I am going to put some new bars on it as well.

What do you guys/gals usually do?

No.... I already have a muffpot on my sled and she doesn't need another hot dogger

And no my muff pot doesn not smell like tuna... :o

Huh? Hand guards? ;) That won't help her kick butt on the boys!

I have a single SLP pipe, SLP skis, 2 1/8" x 159" Series 5 track, airbox mod, handlebar risers, a few other little mods..... and flower decals :D

Keeps the boys guessing :p

Seriously though, what would it take to keep her happy? My mods keep me happy, but those kind of mods might not cut it for her. What does she ride?

windshield, handguards and suspension keeps them happy. you got to keep them warm and not sore

My wife has ridden all my sled, mod or not. It was not until she bought one that was hers from the start, then she was happy. She is modding it her way.

Best mod so far has been the muff pot. A hot lunch = a happy women. And she also shares with me. I can't have one of those things scratching the ceramic coating on my pipes.:D

My wife likes her Carl's swaybar kit, 225lb track spring, SLT ski's and Carl's valved floats. She is also partial to the 151 over her previous 144. All this is on a 600 HO RMK

Where would you start if YOU had to ride it??? I would start with good shocks since you have the rest of the simple basics covered. Don't put a windshield on there that you would ride with either! Definetely put one one it, but not something too tall either.

Last one i had on left me with a scare on my neck... Ever since then i have never ran with windshields. I think some good handguards and she will be fine. I got her a really nice helmet and goggles so she is good there..... i think

As far as riding style. Right now its basics, then its going to be light boondocking on simple paths but mostly open meadow riding like Cooke City or Carrot basin.

Since she has never really been on a sled much and she likes to try and follow me i can’t get her anything to fragile. Right now it is a stock 96 500 SLS skidoo with a 121”track, 3” bar risers, RSI bar pad, clutch kit, lightened up a tone, She hasn’t been out much but when she gets a little bit better I am going to swap the 500 with a 600 polaris triple with triple pipes, custom tunnel extension, u cooler, gripper skis, bars off of a 900 RMK, custom built engine plate, and a 151x2 track with a suspension out of a 06 polaris, team secondary, pods, ETC.

I have almost everything I need just laying around. Only hard part would be making the engine plate, clutching, and cutting the pipes to fit. I don’t want to go to radical on any engine mods because a reliable sled is more important to me than a high mark.

I really like the old skidoo chassis because they are so light, strong and are so easy to mod... and im short on money. :D She likes my IQR so i let her ride it when ever she wants. If she doesn’t like my skilaris I have a friend who wants to sell me a 02 700 RMK.

Drop the 600 tripple idea and make her real happy with a Big Bore... :p

What length of track should i run? I am a firm believer that you should lern to ride a short track before you go long tracked but i don't want her upset and stuck all day.

I have a 121 on it and i have a old 133 and 136 laying around. Im thinking that the 136 and a bit of gear reductio and the sled would be golden for a few months.

Warm gear is most important. I took my wife for the first time and she took my sled. Handle bar risers and the Boss seat made me loose my sled. She likes the feel of the 151" track. So I'll start looking for a new one for myself.

Like the others have said warm gear, sled set up for her suspension and steering, make sure throttle and brake are adjusted on the bars to her liking and sure footing that's all my wife has asked for and she does great long days are not a problem. she rides a 121 for now and does fine

How about some of those handlebar tassels? My sister has some on her bike and she really liked them....

Seriously though. Can the triple pipe idea unless she likes a screamer. :D *Insert comment here*

Most women I know that ride can't stand the loud all day. They think my twin pipes are loud and they aren't even on their sled! The 600 triple is a good idea if you got one already or can get one cheap but just put the stock pipe on IMO. Track length will depend on how she rides, a long track 151 might be too much for her or not enough if she is an aggressive rider. Sometimes less is more.
