i'm gonna do it. mainly because im to damn cheap to buy a boss if anybodys intersted to see what the process is like and what it turns out like let me know ill post some pics should be fun!

I am in the same boat. To hard to find a good aftermarket seat for the rev, and I am also to cheap to spend the cash on a new boss. Plus I think they look like crap. I to mode a seat make it narrower and shorter on the back. So keep us up to date on the project.

this is my start at shaving the seat

first cuts i still have to build it up and ill show what i'm using. I also i have to shave it with my body filler cheese grater yet but i think is a good start. Right now my foam is seperated from the styrofoam. i will be adding more styrofoam not more soft seat foam. i'm going real high so we will see how it turns out expect more pics tommorrow.

If I remember right one of the tools I used for modding my XP seat was a rotary air sander with about a 36 grit disk. Think it
kind of powdered the foam off and then you could smooth it out easier. Does depend on the foam though, some won't work
that way. Have also always used a big kitchen knife with a wavy edge and an electric meat cutting knife works awesome, the
kind with two blades that sort of oscillate back and forth.

Good Luck

Here is the seat on my TNT mod longtrack I changed to all black from black/yellow and raised two inches plus dirt bike LED light
with a carbon fiber mounting plate I made.

im waiting to get the cover done im doing it all myself. the seat is awsome though it is much taller than the boss or any other seat for a zx i love it. it give's you a better riding feel/style, i will post up pics of the finished product (for this year going to recover for next) before i head out to laramie next thursday.

What's that seat look like before you cut it? To me, that ain't a stock seat at all....

it was actually a boss. old school but sucked just as bad as a stocker was way to long and too short.

Closed cell foam for the base
I use 2 densities on the "sitting" foam
And a belt sander actually works amazingly well for smoothening the rough cut areas so it doesn't look ratbaggish with the cover on.
