guys i just got home from sandagging another 10 hrs. and the city of fargo/moorhead is saying 42ft and a small chance of 43ft. the 97 flood was 39 ft. we reached that at 8 this morning. we have the dikes up to 43ft. everyone here is praying that they are wrong and stays under 42ft. everyone was in a good mood till that news came out.
here is the link to fargos newspaper www.inforum.com

we are building clay dikes on streets for a backup dike that is going to be 45 ft. starting tonight. some homes will be on the wrong side but majority will be saved. they say it might hit 43 ft but that will be over the next 4-7 days, if that happens we have time to build up the dikes. fargo did over 2 million sandbagges in 4 1/2 days. not sure what moorhead did in that time. many stores closed today in the area to help with the efforts to save these two towns.

I live down in wahpeton and i have had about 3 feet of water in my yard since monday morning. House is fine but out buildings are taking a beating. I only live a mile and quarter off the red but the overland flooding is getting me. Hoping to get up in the air today or tommorrow to take some pictures. Good luck to all that live north of me.

How the hell does NDSU expect to hold classes Monday? My brother just came home, he had to go down 94 then turn back north to go around the flooded areas, so it took a good long time. Now, he is home, and would have to go back down and around to go back to school. NDSU's website says classes will resume Monday, even though no one I've talked to has any idea how. They will probably not cancel Monday until late Sunday night, so all the people who went home make the trip anyways. Cheap way to get volunteers if you ask me. I know they need them...but these students have their own issues to deal with.

My brother is going to call their bluff. He is going to wait until Monday to decide whether or not to head back. So what, he misses one day of classes if they actually have them. If they cancel at the last minute, he doesn't make the trip for nothing.
