Missing snowmobiler near Stevens Pass

just heard on King 5..... anyone with details????

Just logged on to try to find some details myself.

I live off of hi-way 2 and would like to know if they need more "Eyes" in the woods.
I'm loaded up and ready to help if needed.
There are only a few places to ride around the pass, both only about 35 miles from me.
One at Beckler river and the other I know of is Tonga Ridge but the news didn't give any location.
There are other areas down on the other side but I think if it was Lake Wenatchee or Fish Lake they would have mentioned that on the news.

...The news just said they have the latest news...Waiting.

Latest..."A 24 year old Seattle area man", No cell phone, no beacon.
Got seperated from his buddies and when they retraced their path they could not find him.
No mention of any slides in the area.

Thoughts and prayers for the person and his family, hope they find OK. Hope they were prepared with gear. See way to many people out there not properly outfitted. It would be nice if the news gave a little more info so more in the area could help.

Not many areas up that way. What's the area below Scenic off the old hiway that heads north? Drove up there hunting once, roads all over the place.

I think you're talking about the Martin Creek area. That area is leased by a back country ski company now and they kicked out all the sledders that used to ride there. You can still ride the lower roads but you would be very hard pressed to find an area that you could get lost in on that lower road.
Although it would be possible to ride off the road and down into a creek or something.

I wish the news channels would state the area a little more in detail.
I know of a couple people who ride the Beckler river and Tonga areas that could be beneficial in a search.

I doubt S&R would allow any "Civilians" in on their search, feeling we could add to the confusion in their search efforts.
But I'm ready to help if they do.

When I was in s&r they didn't allow outside help, but they could gain alot by leaning on this community if they would coordinate with us. I have 4 ready to go if wanted.
