Mirage or Wells Cargo???

My buddy bought a mirage and I've never seen a trailer fall apart as quick as it did under so little use. Buy a charmac. Awesome trailer and no cables on the doors.

trim/fit and finish/ all have there place....but my front axle basically fell off......last year, the front door fell off....i not going to mention the trim, gaps, the spare rack that separated from the wall, on and on....

check you trailer.....then check again...

Nice when new

I have a 26 foot extreme snow beautiful trailer when new but i think ford has better quality control jj. These things in my opinion are POS wish i had never bought it foot of snow on the roof when i came home friken roof is all pushed in which caused all kinds of gaps in the inside. A buddy of myne just lost his front axel going down the highway and next thing two other guys say they have had similar with one tire coming off and another axel broke or something like that. Paint is garbage flakes off and branches will dent the outside basically it is half a year old and has only bee used five times but looks like a 15 year old featherlite IMO. Floor is really nice have to say that is one nice feature but i am really afraid of this thing falling apart when driving down the highway dont even want to sell it to some other person. Just really wished i would have done my research and not been such a cheap *** and spent a few more grand cause unfortunatly these trailers have a really bad rep at least in canada and are worth nothing used be lucky to get 7000 grand for a trailer that is 6 months old that i paid 12500 for. Anyhow just though i would mention this save up better to have a featherlite that in ten year might be worth 6000 grand to a mirage which will probably be in pieces.

Junk!!!!!

Powderpatrols failed axle welds were discovered in my driveway. 2.5 yrs ago I also had a buddy stop by my house with his brand new Mirage, 4 miles from the dealership ( which no longer sells Mirage) and here's what I found. Luckily nobody was killed. I wouldn't own a mirage trailer if you gave it to me, too much liability. If you own a Mirage I would inspect every weld, what you'll find will make you wonder if this the trailer was made in China.

Wow ^^^^ is SCARY!

Hmm.. I'm in the market myself for a trailer. Even though it's just my wife and I right now, I'm thinking 4-place. When you go on trips, it's often with others, and it would be nice to be able to drive one truck and trailer, and split fuel. The 3-places are just not much less $$ to justify dropping down in size.

I spend 10+ years in the RV industry. Basically, these are built a lot alike. I don't mind some maintenance, but I don't want simple stuff to fall apart. I also don't want to spend the $$ now for an aluminum frame.

One thing I got today was this:

When you are talking about a steel frame, you want an I-beam design. While I would normally prefer a boxed tube design, the problem with that is you cannot treat the inside of the boxed tube, and they end up corroding (rusting) from the inside out. So, after hearing that description, I'm willing to accept that the I-beam frame design is superior in this application. Here in WA state, they use some god-awful stuff on the highways as a de-icer, and I suspect other states use nasty stuff too.

We have a sled deck for the local day-trips. Way easier to park and drive. But, having that big trailer to hold your stuff in during the off-season and when you go on a longer trip, sure seems like a good idea.

Trailers going off a cliff

After doing allot of research i am thinking the best thing to do with a mirage trailer is hook it up go to a steep hilly section unhook it and let it fly over the edge and break into a million pieces which i am sure it will and collect the insurance and go get a feather lite or haulmark etc. I really dont even feel like i want to hook up to it again for liability fears that i have something behind me that can break apart. I really dont want it at all and i really dont want to make it someone else's problem guess get the flashlite out and go inspect every weld seen which ones were tacked and which ones were actually welded.

Just got my 2010 34ft Extreme sport High mark Package with triple 5200lb axels and love it...but they are a little more $$.....but i have had a ton of luck with my old extreme sport.....good luck to ya

Wow, we must have gotten twinners! I would stay away from mirage as i have nothing but problems from them. My axle was my biggest problem it failed within one year of owning the trailer. I tried to get a warranty through mirage and that is when the run around started. Yeah a warranty is great but if they wont back it then what is the point. They wanted me to send the axle to the axle manufacturer pay the freight and the axle company would decide if it was their product was "faulty". Hmmm wonder what they would say.

Oh Btw it is sold and replaced it with a wells cargo, over a year and no problems what so ever.

Don't be fooled by the LEDs and poly bead flooring- Save yourselves the hastle.

since 2006 I have had 4 enclosed trailers. The first one was a 26ft mirage.Every screw in the sidewalls rusted and they told me it was because i didnt wash it enough but i wash it every time i use it so they sent me a bag of screws to replace them. Also my front axle almost fell off.The tailer looked tight but when i pulled it down the road it was very dirty inside,it was not sealed well at all. Finally i orderd a 28ft from mirage after explaining all the problems i had with the first one they assured me this one would be better. When i got the trailer it looked better but the very first time i opened the front door two of the hinges fell off and the door almost broke off the rest of the way.The dealer welded it back on and i took the trailer.About three weeks later the main upright posts on the back end of the trailer by the door broke and the whole back end was wobbling around.also i had screws that were rusting just here and there around the trailer and mirage told me this time that they had a bad batch and would be glad to replace them if i brought the trailer to them but i live in alberta and i was not going to pull it down there for that so i sold it.done with mirage forever. My next tailer i bought was a 30ft charmac and was the nicest trailer i had so far.Fit and finish was really nice it pulled very well.It was a 8.5 foot wide trailer and i suddenly went from pulling 4 sleds around to 2 or 3 so the trailer was overkill.I pulled it for 2 seasons and really dont have any complaints about it at all.The trailer i got to replace it now is a 28 ft 7.5 foot inline NASHCAR trailer. It is all aluminum and pulls like a dream.I just pulled my sleds 600 miles and there is hardly a speck of dust on anything in it.The fit and finish is perfect. Also it has no screws on the outside or inside for that matter to rust. This is a newer company and they have a great product.I am not biased by any means I just like things that work well, look good, and stay together.IT is a little more expensive trailer but from what I know you definately get what you pay for just like anything else
