Wow ^^^^ is SCARY!
Hmm.. I'm in the market myself for a trailer. Even though it's just my wife and I right now, I'm thinking 4-place. When you go on trips, it's often with others, and it would be nice to be able to drive one truck and trailer, and split fuel. The 3-places are just not much less $$ to justify dropping down in size.
I spend 10+ years in the RV industry. Basically, these are built a lot alike. I don't mind some maintenance, but I don't want simple stuff to fall apart. I also don't want to spend the $$ now for an aluminum frame.
One thing I got today was this:
When you are talking about a steel frame, you want an I-beam design. While I would normally prefer a boxed tube design, the problem with that is you cannot treat the inside of the boxed tube, and they end up corroding (rusting) from the inside out. So, after hearing that description, I'm willing to accept that the I-beam frame design is superior in this application. Here in WA state, they use some god-awful stuff on the highways as a de-icer, and I suspect other states use nasty stuff too.
We have a sled deck for the local day-trips. Way easier to park and drive. But, having that big trailer to hold your stuff in during the off-season and when you go on a longer trip, sure seems like a good idea.
