Military service

I recently retired out of Carson and i'm now working for their range control, how about the quality of some of the soldiers coming in these days? scary!! But they all volunteer during a time of war. Great Americans

7 years in the Infantry, 1 tour as a saw gunner 1 as a sniper, jacked up my back, knee, shoulder and a few other parts and now i'm medically retired and living the American dream.
I loved the Army, if theres someone reading this whos thinking about serving, just do it you won't regret it.

I'll be in that boat soon I hope, I plan on coming back to Carson before I retire, and hopefully be able to find a job. Job market is pretty scary right now.

Keep living the dream :thumb:

Deal me in too!

I joined the Air Force in July of 1979 as a 431X1 Tactical Aircraft Specialist (Crew Chief) and was stationed at Mountain Home AFB in Idaho on F-111A models. I did this for 3 1/2 years and cross trained to Aircraft Structural Repair and was sent to Fairchild AFB in Spokane Washington to work on B-52Gs and KC-135As.

I got out in 1986 after getting my FAA A&P license. I then worked general aviation in Rapid City for a while. I was hired by United in San Fransisco and then move to work for PSA airlines in San Diego until Boeing hired me to work their 747 experimental preflight program. Right after that a buddy I had served in the Air Force with called me and said they had a Structural Repair position open at his new job in Spokane working for the Washington Air National Guard. I was hired, in April of 1988 and I'm still there today.

I got a chance to cross train again and I became a Non Destructive Inspector and became the shop chief when I made E-7. I also was fortunate enough to participate in Desert Shield, Desert Storm, Somalia, Kosovo, ect.

Now I am an E-9 (Chief Master Sergeant). I was promoted in 2002. I am the Quality Assurance (QA) Chief at Fairchild AFB for both the Active Duty and the Air National Guard.

I have 30 good years of service currently and I plan to serve at least another 8 years (God willing).

Thank all of you who have done your part to keep America strong!

11B graduated from an ITB in 03 at Ft Benning, went to afghanistan. Reclassed as 13D FDC for 155s, Reclassed again as 96B MI and went to kosovo. Tired of the politics and dog and pony show. Got out.

They are lettin loose the guys we put in containment and soldiers are scared to fire at the enemy because of the BS courtmarshalls and investigations for protecting their own lives while serving their country.
