I'm glad the entire movies are being sent over. I hope someone remembered to slip in some Orville Redenbacher popcorn bags too!
unfortunatly the USB idea will not work, government computers are not allowed to read them, as they are a serious security risk to our networks....soldiers have been given article 15's (loss of rank, pay and possibly security clearance) for just plugging them in or even bringing them to work (as in the building i work in), although we could use them on our personall laptops......but that does us no good for movie night in the briefing room.

Another military unit contacted me over the weekend requesting "Movie" support for their troops.

I just found the thread for sending us deployed folks sledding movies, and would like to get my unit set up on the distro list.
while we do have internet access where we are, youtube and other media sites have been blocked for various security reasons.
as a unit we hold a "movie" night once a week, and show various movies to a group of soldiers who willingly to come see them....no we dont order them to watch chic flicks...
that said, if the forum members are still willing to donate and ship "sled ****" to us, we'd appreciate it.....the unit itself is based out of the Seattle, Wa area, and has social media sites (facebook) for interested folks to see what we're up to over here, just search for the 364th Expeditionary sustainment commnd.

Not putting words into anyones mouth, but I would be willing to bet that most of the major players in the sled film industry would gladly get some "Sled ****" care packages out to our troops.

As being a sledder and a 5 time tour vet, I applaud all who help with this project. My last trip, I took everything I had and had the wife send more. This is truly a great thing. I gotta say hats off to ya Doc for your help. I'll start buying your videos again.

Unless stuff changed in the past 2 years I have sled DVDs left at every major camp/base in Afghanistan and Iraq. Every time I deployed (3 times) I had sled DVDs donated and left them in the local MWR or with the red cross to lend out. Boondocker films was the best for donating DVDS for the troops.

1 copy of sidexside mania will be donated to the Zone 1 MWR here at camp Afirjan.
1 copy is already in the unit movie library
the other two copy's have already started making the rounds in small group showings today, with alot of excitement.
Mountian Mod Mania 9 will start making the rounds tomorrow, as I plan to screen it for " appropriateness " tonight.
All video's will be donated into either the unit movie library, or the local MWR for ALL military personell here to have availability to them.
