Miles on your sled don't really add up, for me. I can ride all day and only g 30 miles in the deep pow here in Colorado.

Now I don't have to drive too far for the goods but can't help notice guys talking about 13 hr drives...each way! Just wondering how many miles you guys rack up towing your sleds back and forth over the course of the year?

depends where I go.....cooke city almost 1000 miles for me, I think thats the same for the snowies. But the bighorns is a cool800 which seems short. Worth every penny.

I feel sorry for you folks that live in the flat lands.:(
30 minutes and I'm unloading in to some pretty decent Mountain riding!!
I'm not sure I would sled if it took more than 5-6 hours to get somewhere decent.:clock:

I drove from Texas to go sledding at Cooke City over spring break 2 years ago :D

Technically, I stopped in Casper Wy along the way, but still :D

15 min to both parking lots we use in the Bigholes, hour and 15 to Jefferson. Nice and short, makes getting there when it dumps easy, burn a tank of gas and still make it back for afternoon classes.:D Ill feel sorry for your MN boys I ve made the drive from MN to ID 4 times in the summer and that has got to blow in the winter with ice on the roads, and a 4 place enclosed.

1000 miles made the trip 21 times. first time was in 90 i had a 250 star. i remember seeing a ext out there with bolt on paddles. oh my how times have changed. we go once a year to west.

Revelstoke is 700 miles from my doorstep. Cooke is 800, but I can make it there quicker and the drive isn't nearly as hair raising as that gongshow they call the Trans-Canada highway in BC.

from where i live about its about 20miles to sicamous and about 60 to revy so im pretty lucky i only have to drive an hour to get to the ultimate backcountry riding in the world.

We've talked about moving but love where we are. Family, 10,000 lakes, 4 seasons, close to Canadian walleye fishing. Decided (at this point) I just need to work harder to make more trips:D. 1 week a month is next years goal. Will have 25+ days of solid riding out west after next weekend. If I lived there and was able to ride every wknd, which wouldn't happen with 3 kids, that would be 3-4 mos.

I drive 5 minutes (2 miles) to either the trail head or our shop, then 15 minutes (12 miles) to the other trail head. 2.5 hours to the cabin or 120 miles, we have many areas to ride around here with in 2 hours and 100 miles.

Go to mapquest & see how bad it sucks to be this far from the mountains.
7 days of riding from over 3000 miles of winshield time.:(

(and some wonder why anyone would drink in a vehicle):p

This year for me it would be 2 trips to Togwotee at 1100 each way for a total of 4400 miles there abouts. Each trip is at least 17.5 hours each way with stops etc. 70 hours
A trip to Duluth during Christmas time. 170 each way making it 340. 7 hours
Also a trip to Michigan which netted I think 325 each way? for a total of 650. 12 hours or so.

Grand total. 5390, call it 5400 miles and 89 hours spent in the truck just to ride less then 1000 miles on the sled. Great!
