Mon. Up Hawkfest Is A Go. We Will Be Riding The Muligan, Aaa, Ford Rd, Hurons, Dodge City And Big Bay. Any And All Interested Lets Go. Mostly Off Trail, Some Trail Riding Needed To Get Here And There. Departure Time ?? 9-10 Est. From Negaunee.
Sounds good to me....I will be bringing a two ski buddy as well...Meeting at Lemoines and trailering north for a bit?How much fuel you think we'll need?
If We All Leave With A Full Tank And A Mix Jug For 5 Gallons In Big Bay At The Gas Staion We Should Be Ok. It Would Be Good To Have Five Gallons Mixed Up At The Trucks Just In Case.
Blazin are u guy's getting a hotel in that area that we will be riding in or not. I'm thinking for Tue, If you want we could trailer back to white Pine, Silver City and get set up for the night and ride porkie's and other spot's I'm familiar with. Talk to ya soon.
Im going to be getting together with the guy whos coming with us tonight at my shop-sled night.I will talk with him and see what he thinks,I know he has off mon and tue but unsure of the plan.I dont need a place as Im only 2hrs or so from Negaunee but perhaps he'll wanna make it a two dayer,if thats the case he has access to a cabin I believe,in the rockland area.
Are we meeting at Lemoines or? 9am sounds fine to me..i think there on EST up there?
Im thinking since Jayhawk is at Lemoines automotive and were meeting up with two of them from there- thats the spot to meet up,tell us otherwise Jayhawk, but thats what Im assuming anyhow.I am unsure about tuesday as of now,I will have a better answer for you tomorrow.
There Is A Mc D's, Bk, Etc In Ishpeming. It Will Be 5 Minutes From The Shop. Call Me When You All Get Close. In Negaunee You Will Need To Turn South On Teal Lake Ave ( Large Lake To The North And Holiday / Citgo Stations At The Stoplight) Go 6 Blocks Turn Right At A Corner Gas Staion, Go 1 Block, Then Left. You Will Be Able To See The Shop Sign At That Point. I Will Check Back Tomorrow Night.
Ok,Hurons for monday and the Porkies area for tuesday works well for both of us,we have a place to crash in Rockland which isn't very far from WhitePine/SilverCity area.Is there a good spot to offload the trailers in the WP/SC area?I think we would just trailer over that way tue morn so when its time to pack it up we could just head home from that area. Im thinking it may take 2.5 hrs for us to make it to Negauanee monday morning-how about 9:30 est ?Can you make it by then Tom?bringing one or two with you?
I will be coming alone, my group is headed to the Horn's sunday night, I can't afford that trip so it will be just poor ole' me. I know a few that would love to go but I'm not askin, Short track's and their not that reliable as off trail rider's.
As far as a 9:30 start time. Perfect, I'll keep the phone #'s handy. I'll have to copy those direction's. Everything sound's like it's ready to go. Can't wait.
Every thing sound's good for Monday, Tuesday though might not happen, I have a funeral tue afternoon. Its the wife's side her aunt, tough to ask for that day to ride, have'nt even asked if she want's me to go. I think she's assuming that I will be at the funeral by some of her comments, So I'm thinking I WILL ride all day mon. then head home or crash for a few hours' then make the haul back. Play it safe and ride another day. Rather than piss off momma. chitty
Thats not aproblem Tom,Understandable forsure! We will still continue on with plan A and ride monday in the Hurons, then my buddy and I will hang on the west end for tuesday.
Ive got the trailer loaded and my stuff packed up...were hitting the road at 6-see you in da UP ey!
It was nice meeting up with you all and really cool to be able to ride with some more Hawks! We had a decent ride, the snow had setup from the previous rain but we still managed to find snow to get stuck in,there is definetly some potential for nice riding in the Hurons and I would love to go back after a nice heavy dumping. Thanks for making the long trek east Tom,glad to see you made it home ok,and Thanks to Jason and Duane from Lemoines in Negaunee for showing us some of your playground and letting us ride the 800's.We managed to click off about 70 miles of trails and offtrail riding in the 5 hours we played over there,I didnt get too many action shots but did sneek a few of all four hawks at rest...oh and one of Toms sky high trip thru the trees...LOL,only minor damage for the hawks though.Great time and I look forward to riding with you guys again......you missed a hella good ride tuesday though Tom,would have been nice if you could have joined us but circumstances just did allow for it,maybe another epic snowstorm like last april will happen(60 inches) and you can make it back over!
Thank's to Jason, Duwayne sp. for hosting the 1st annual Midwest Havok w/hawk's. Jason and his bud forgot his name sorry (greg) guess. Who can airout that crossfire. He need's to get on a hawk. Jason, Jason, and Duwayne. You guy's are some smooth rider's, I had a blast wish I could have spent another day there, next time. Bad thing is I forgot my camera in the truck that morning. sorry no pic's from me. Hopefully next year we can do this again with more rider's, Thank everyone for the support and Zip Ties' and the Gas after I ran Out. Have'nt looked at that problem yet. Like to thank ADVIL for the pain releif Still need to look at the suspension and do some fine tuning. It was good to see some of the differnt snow condition's as far as hard packed trail rideing softer trail rideing and all the offtrail we did that powder riding is a ton of fun. Looking forward for 1 more trip to da UP this year. Later for now Tom
I always go up to the U.P. It didn't work out this year, but maybe I'll be able to meet up with you guys next year. I've always wished I could ride with other hawks when I'm up there. Later
