Mid-Season release?

Any chance we see a mid-season release of an AXYS-based RMK?

Can someone give us a run down of previous mid-season releases?

Define Midseason... I mean the regular release could come as early as end of Feb or first of March. Thats only about month and half away. Or you thinking they'll actually have new sleds at dealer yet this season ready to sell? I find that hard to believe

We'll see the sleds this month but I find it hard to believe they could be in production with out more leaked photos etc.

Who knows???

I know it has happened asked with trail sleds, like the 2000.5 edge chassis, there was an early release IQ as well. I'm not sure if Polaris has ever done it with a mountain sled.

It has been a while since we've seen a mid season. The family owned both the 1999.5 gen 2 mod season model and the 2000.5 edge mid season release. They were always so much fun to ride. And to know you had something way before anyone else really got their hands on it

That being said I forsee something on the horizon. With the warranties they offered on non snow check sleds, things like the terrain dominator package, and so on it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out something is coming

Question is when

The Indy RMK and GenII RMK each had 3 or 4 seasons.
The Edge RMK lasted for 5 or 6 seasons.
The IQ RMK was out for 6 seasons.
The Pro chassis has been out for 6 model years.
The Axys is now in it's first season in the short track market.

I don't forsee a mid-season release. That is RARE from the OEMs...and more rare in the mtn segment...and even MORE RARE from Polaris.
I'd be really surprised.

What's next? When? We'll probably find out if there is a change likely in early March.

No one does this more than Doo. Poo did it last year with the Terrain Dominator - it was really a mid-season release. These are sleds that are available to buy, not just test - my qualifier.

Cat already did it this year with the XC 6000 race sled, a hardened and more expensive version of the 6000RR (peeps who ordered the RR last spring got abit of a hosejob on this one). They are selling the XC race version at select dealers now, no resume required. And Doo just did it with the Iron Dog MXZ with the 128 track. I can't come up with one that Yammy has ever done (when they were all made in Japland).

With that said, I don't think there will be any mid-season this year from Poo - it would take away from the excitement about the Axys RMK announcement for 16, and they won't be delivering a production Axys RMK until next fall. They could have an Axys short track mid-season release, but I doubt it, since the Pro-S's are not sold out. Think this will be a quiet mid-season for Poo. Then the Axys RMK will be official, with limited models available to test at dealers this spring, just like the Pro RMK was intro'ed in 2010. That sold them truckloads of 11 RMKs - they'll do this again. JMHO.

Back in my short track days I had the 97.5 XC 700 and then got the 2000.5 edge 600 they made a 2001.5 XC 700 edge as well but you don't see these type of sleds anymore. I think it's because of the epa regs u would have to spend a ton of money to certify a new model. So I say no.

The 2000 & 2001 early sleds were also available in early fall, around time/before snowchecks would of been delivered. We would of seen an early release by now, i believe.

Mid season release, not happening! I even question weather Polaris will release the new mountain chassis for 16 with all the leftover 14 and 15 pro's still littering showrooms across the west. If they do, get ready for a SUPER SALE on leftover pro's.

2006 Dragon 900 was the only mid season release that I remember... but that was basically BNG and paint.

.

2010 they had the late season 700 release , I wanted to check a 2010 700 but Poo announced that they would no longer make the 700 . Than guess what shows up after the snow checks .

Not sure why it took so long but they have finally pulled off what the Shift didn't . The Axys suspension works as a whole , the front and back respond to movement giving it a dirt bike cushion feeling .

The big question is why would you want that weight in a mountain sled , it's weight may be no different than a new Yammy turbo :fear:

With the axys switchbacks coming in in the 430 range dry, they are comparable to other offering a mountain segments. When the polaris camp moves the mountain line up to the axys chassis I don't see it gaining weight. I predict 395 dry.

Would be cool to see them build an axys styl rmk as a proto type. Never know what it could lead to
