meth injection

From what I have read it keeps the charge air cooler. True?
Could you set it up like a Nitrous shot? 3/4 of the way through a climb hit the button cooling the air?
Would that give you more power?

it actually cools the cylinder temp reducing deto so you can run more compression or boost to make more power its like adding octane to your fuel so it should work with spray but iam not positive.just give dave a call he will help you he really knows his stuff with meth & sleds.

Meth

I run the hurricane kit on my Nytro. I like the added insurance it gives me and the cooler exhaust temps. A buddy runs it on his front mount for no other reason then to keep his exhaust header cool. My turbo kit builder recomends a max of 14psi at 5000ft on pump fuel, I frequently run 16-17psi and have never had any porblems (I ride ~5500 ft). There have been a couple cases where nozels have pulgged causing engine failure though, so I'm always testing the system and doing a little preventative maint. I know hurricane has pushed a few motors real hard in the past, like a stock Nytro motor, no shim, 15psi, meth on pump fuel @ sea level.

i talked to hurricane and from he said to me it sounds like a decent deal, even if its just extra insurance on your motor......not like these things are cheap, ive got alot of $$$$ into mine..... where do the meth injectors go though? and what are you running for "meth" in the tank....

Ive been running meth on my nytro for 2 years now. If you go on Hurricanes Web Site, there are pictures of my sled showing the Meth tank and where the nozzles are located (the nozzles are tapped into the front of the inner cooler). I have three nozzles there and the Meth is nothing more than windshield wiper fluid (I run -40).
Hope this helps.

I run Meth injection on my Nytro as well. I run 3-100ml nozzles with a progressive spray controller that is set to come on at 12 lbs and is at full flow by 19lbs for ultimate protection. The nozzles are plumbed into the bottom of my intercooler and spray straight up, this way the spray is at a 90 degree angle to the intake boots, the recommended way to do it. The threads are NPT so you don't have to worry about locking them on the back side. I did a lot of research a couple of years ago and talked to Dave from Hurricane and a few other guys. Truth be told it is the best thing you can do for a high horsepower, high compression motor. I talked to the experts at Snows auto and ran by them what I am running and how much hp I am making. From his experience adding meth the way I have done is like adding 60 hp at wide open spray. The meth does cool the combustion chamber exceptionally well. Where meth makes more power is in the density of the combustion chamber mix of gas and air. The goal is to add enough meth for maximum benefit without getting any squelch from to much meth. I do not recommend running windshield washer fluid. It will work but it is not optimum. The most optimum substance is HEET in the Yellow bottle. I called the company and they confirmed it is over 99% pure Methanol. Simply take a bottle and mix it with equal parts water. If you build a kit and have to build your own reservoir due to space be sure to build it out of stainless steel not aluminum. I used the parts from my Snows Auto plastic reservoir and made a stainless steel reservoir from a hiking water bottle. I just plumbed all the fittings into the bottle and bingo. I even plumbed in the level sensor so I would know when my Meth is low. The Snows kit comes with LED's to let you know when you are spraying and when you are low. Green light means hold on. You can also buy protection in the form of a flow monitor that drops you off boost (with a solenoid) if there is no Meth running through the system because it is plugged or out. The Stage 2 kit with the added protection will run you about $700.00. When my meth kick in it feels like you are grabbing a whole other gear. It is a rush and I know my motor is protected.

Motleyone What is the cost such a complete meth kit that you run?
Sounds very interesting.
Is this something you can acquire and sell and adjusted in?

okay so how would it work if you already have fuel injectors mounted in your intercooler (boost-it system) would there be room for both setups?

Hey Tarz,

It will run you about $700 total for the kit and extra parts you need. Not sure what you were asking in the second part of your question though, sorry?

I am not sure how that would effect the atomization of the fuel coming out of the Boost-It injectors as it mixed with the spray from the methanol. That would be a great question for the boys at Snow Performance. IMO I don't think it would be an issue to have them side by side for each intake.

what is squelch?

also washer fluid has lots of other additives in it that are not good for your motor (i think there is some aluminium or something in there)

Talk to the guys at snow, better to make your own mix that way you can control what you are using it for.

To make more power or just cool egts, more meth creates more power the more water you use the more its going to cool, that is the way it is in diesel trucks any how. some people run straight water just to cool egts. (in diesels)

It is when your trying to push to much methanol/water mixture into the combustion chamber and you are in effect flooding the engine.

Thanks, i will have to think about it for a while.
I will PM you soon :)
Sounds great that meth setup og yours :)

It was mentioned on here that someone ran meth just for the purpose of keeping egts/header cooled down, how would a guy set up water/meth with the goal of keeping things cool not so much for getting the most hp out of the fuel your running? Also how much meth would a sled go through in a day?
