The Deftones are awesome. Chevelles first stuff was their best, but they are good too.
Yes Kreg, Tool is still awesome. Nobody plays tighter than those guys. Real musicians with talent that is not dulicated anywhere.
AND....they didn't/haven't sold out.
As for Metallica....I would have to disagree a little... IMO LOAD was their BEST LAST album. The songwriting and guitar solo's in LOAD were/are phenominal. With the exception of that one slow country sounding song, LOAD does kick A$$....especially on sledding trips.
RELOAD absolutely sucked.... so bad in fact that I really couldn't stand to pony up any more $$ for junk after that one.
I think Lars is the reason for the demise. I was bummed to see Jason leave but Trujillo kicks A$$.
Same thing happened to Suicidal Tendencies.....make their best album ever (92) only to shift directions and go loony.....back to skateboard punk..
