Metallica please stop!

The album they came out with 3 years ago wasn't bad. They don't suck, it's the demographic they are trying to reach that sucks. A bunch of dumbas$ kids who don't know real metal from their as$. They think mashups are awesome and rap beats belong in every song.
Go listen to Justin Bieber for a day and you will wish you had that last crappy Metallica album back.

The last metallica cd that really had me excited was st. anger. I remember the hype. "METALLICA IS GETTING BACK TO IT'S THRASH METAL ROOTS!!!!" I bought it on the day that it came out.........They got me for the last time, (scratch that, I did buy a new copy of Master of Puppets to replace my scratched to hell 20 year old version). Metallica's been going down hill ever since James Hetfield decided that he's gonna try to sound like a low rent blues singer on every song.

Have always been pretty ambivolent about Metallica. No love, no hate.
But I understand what it's like when you favorite artists put out a CD that misses the mark.
I've been buying Alice Cooper Albums, 8 tracks, cassettes, CD's, VHS & DVD's since "Love it to death", and many of those were real ball suckers!
But, being a fan I still ponied up $ each time something new came out.
Over the years some of my favorites are the ones that failed miserably!
If there are 2 songs I really like on any CD I feel like it was worth buying, especially if they are songs that get no airplay.
That being said, "The Black Album" was far & away my favorite Metallica album.
But I understand what it's like when you favorite artists put out a CD that misses the mark.

I love the older metallica 10x more then st anger or death magnetic. personally i hate anything from st anger more then most music out there. I dont really turn on anything off death magnetic, but when it comes on i definately enjoy it, but not the kind of stuff i turn on because i crave the sound of it
Love st anger. Loved Death magnetic. Hated load and reload.
This last one with Lou Reed was horrible. I don't consider that theirs.
Honestly when you set the bar as high as they did with ride the lightening, master of puppets and justice for all, where can you go from there. Black was awesome as well, few artists have that much success. Hard to top the last album every time.

I was never a huge Metallica fan. I always liked them but never loved. Lately I haven't been able to stand any of their stuff when it is on the radio.
But I tend to go through musical tastes often and as of late it has been lots of reggae.

The Black album was the last GREAT album. Death Magnetic was ok.
Music, as a whole has slid downward. The new stuff sucks ballz and I am finding more and more people are diggin out the old stuff that they love and listening to that. Whether it be rap, pop, R&B, Rock, Metal or Country, the new stuff sucks. But the old stuff from the 90s and early 2000s still kicks as$!

Even though i despise numetal bands, i too am a fan of Tool.
Coming from a guy who admitted to wearing skinny jeans and thought it was cool, totally understandable, that and the fact that the Black Album is older than you.
You were never exposed to real music.
