I have had them all and I currently have a 2010 CCSB Laramie 6.7 Auto on 37's. It has a sled deck, bed full of gear and I tow a 5K lb trailer with it with zero tranny problems. I run a 150hp tune when it is empty and a 60hp tune when loaded and towing. I had the truck back to the dealer for a faulty trans filter the week that I bought it and haven't been back since. It is fully deleted so most of the problematic issues are sitting on a shelf now.
The 2010+ Dodge Crew Cab's are pretty big inside so a Mega may not be necessary for most. The 2010+ trucks also have a tighter turning radius due to some front knuckle changes. They also upgraded the front axle shaft/ u-joints to 1550WJ series which are freakin' huge. They still use a pretty low quality u-joint so upgrading to a set of Spicers should be on the list when the stockers start to make some noise. At the same time throw in a set of Carli or Dynatrac ball joints and most of your front end issues will be solved.
I find parking the 2010 CC alot easier than my 07 Mega due to the shorter wheelbase and tighter turning. The seats in my 2010 Laramie are definitely nicer than those in my 07 SLT but I didn't mind thise either. I personally don't like those really soft seats as my legs will go numb after a while in a truck with them. It seems that the softer seats in the Chevy's and Fords are nice for lightweights but don't hold up very well. All of the SuperDuty's and Chevy HD's that I looked at had pretty sagged out seats after a few years. I also have an 08 F350 and the soft seats are already starting to break down at 30K whereas the ones in my Dodge look/feel brand new. I rarely take the Ford on long trips almost solely because of the seats.
I am not sure about this whole broken door handle thing and I must have missed these threads over on Cummins Forum. I have had a slew of Dodges starting all the way back in 98 and have never had an issue and we get alot of ice here. Just this weekend I was up at the cabin ridin and when I got up on Sunday everything was frozen solid. I couldn't get any of the trailer doors open, my tailgate was frozen shut, neither of the AMP steps would deploy, but I was able to open the truck doors with alot of yanking.
As far as transmisions go the newer Fords hold the most power hands down. My F350 puts down 575+hp with a stock trans. I run 37's on that truck too and she is holding up pretty good. The pre 07.5 Dodge 4spd trans (48re) doesn't like alot of added power but is one of the easiest to build for more power. The 07.5+ 6spd auto (68rfe) is alot nicer and is holding up to 37's and a 150hp tune on my Dodge but if I hot rod it like I do my Ford I am sure that it won't go the distance. The Allison is a nice trans if you keep the truck stock or near stock but if you have a heavy foot and plan to add big tires and/or more power you will find out how expensive they are to build up.
Anyhow,
Sorry for the long post but dealing with the pitfalls of these Diesel trucks is what I do.
