MCX Trouble Shooting

last season when it ran perfect.. before i tore it apart. i had the MCX box mounted on the battery mount, snorkle aire intake, and exhaust coming out the back

this season... i have an under the tunnel exhaust, snorkle air intake and the MCX box mounted up on the radiator schroud above the intercooler.

I have deleted the radiator on my mcx nytro. The radiator used to help block the snow that gets in through the open holes on the hood. Well, I was in some deep snow last weekend and noticed that I had a bunch of snow covering the throttle bodies, vacuum lines, mci box, etc. It started to run funny. I'd have to really ease into the throttle, or it would cough and sputter intil I let all the way out, then really eased into it. I'm going to pressurize everything today and check for leaks, but here's what I think could have happened. I was getting moisture throught the prefilter and into the system, with the cold snow covering all the lines that contained some moist air, condensation would occur on the inside surface of the lines, causing alot of miosure to build up in them. Just as others have stated, I think this was my problem, since the efi box checked out okay.

Edit: My problem was most likely due to a cracked exhaust manifold where the 3 into 1 factory welding is located. Hope this isn't something I'll be dealing with often.

i think that is my problem. I have yet to vent my BR Tech one piece hood. This may be creating to much contained heat/steam making moisture build up in the air lines

You ought to take the cover off the control box and hit the inside with some compressed air. A little condensation in the box will make it do some pretty wierd stuff.

Can you explain more? My hoses are running down away from the MCX Box. I think that is what you are referring to.
That's what I mean. I mount the box up high and that way the moiture should not get into the controller. When it's mounted on the battery bracket the moisture can run down the hose and cause problems.

I think i figured out the problem. There was too much heat/steam under the hood that was creating moisture in the lines. I vented my hood and road today the issue only happened once for about 5 min. I am going to do some more stuff to insure no steam in being contained under the hood. I hope that's the problem.

Good read......wonder it that is all that happened to my sled? Heat soaked and then moisture in the lines?

Had some of these issues and I run a bit of gas line anti-freeze in each tank. Also had problems with moisture in the ignition. No probs anymore.
