MC setup!!!! Win

Nope, no trenching and I am running MDS weights up front with a Speedwerx H5 spring and the secondary has the stock helix and with a Speedwerx secondary spring.

I had the stock 8 tooth drivers last year on my sled. In fact, I am using the same driveshaft and drivers with the belt drive and dropped chain case.

The good news is I don't feel like a clown driving my sled anymore. I now seem to have the control I was hoping for and the sled is now able to do the amazing things I had hoped. I am MUCH happier since dropping the chain case.

I still have the 25 tooth upper (2.63 ratio) though and really want to try the 26 tooth upper gear (2.52). I will try to call Tom again.........

Running the 26 top on mine. I like it.

I was super impressed last spring when comparing the 16 LTD 153 and a 17 MC 153. The MC is just so much better. Glad to here those doing the 8T and MC dropped case are having similar results. I have 8T drivers and the inner MC case if anyone needs parts for the swap.

It's more the 8 tooth than the drop!!
8 tooth just works and the 7t doesn't.
Clutching works better and everything.

Not necessarily. I also have a 15 HCR which runs an 8tooth and has a speedwerx stage 2 kit on it. The 17 with a can and different clutch weights will drive circles around it

you should repost that vid , it was quite dramatic

I know this is a deep snow mod for sure, but is anyone noticing the lower guards under the chain case and brake disk hitting the ground if you bottom out the suspension on harder snow or a deep mogul? Like on the trail? Curious if you could end up with any potential damage that way.

Yes, on a deep trail mogul I felt it hit once. Also hit a stump on the brake side. At a minimum I would have the AC skid plate, although it's not the best fit.

But the risk is worth the reward! Still better then wondering when your engine will blow or if your bulkhead will shatter. :)

does it cover these items and hold tight to the belly, or you talking just using one for the non-dropped model and living with the poor fit?
id like to find something to cover the chaincase but thats about it, i think the brake disc could take a hit fine, like a dirtbike.
i havent noticed any mogul slapping.

AC makes a skid plate for the MC. I added a couple extra bolts to make it fit tighter. The fit on mine might not be the best also because it's 16 belly panels and I have them really pushed in with BM Fab narrow boards.
