I do love an armed law abiding citizen....cheers to that! :beer;

I also don't eat donuts. ;)

.

1. Im glad you respect those who carry guns. Got pulled over last night due to a taillight when I told the officer both my wife and I were both armed the guy about pissed his pant. Started freaking out he told me to hand over both weapons...........things were said but calmly I stated do you really want both of us to reach for our guns. I had allready taken my wallet out I handed it to him and told him where he could find my permit. I did not get a ticket but this guy needs to go back to training camp.

2. Whats wrong with donuts?:D

3. Every person I talk to that is not a byu fan cause this is national news. Thinks what was said was not in the heat of the moment and was way over the top. Except byu Fans so all of you saying its just the U fans YOUR WRONG.

4 My wife in talking to a friend who plays woman's college ball still. Said that in the case of what happened if it was another player besides Max in his standing BYU would have sent him packing because he broke a major code of ethics and it has happened to people for doing less at both schools. All colleges have a very strict code of ethics I could care less that if he would have said he hated utah and he thinks we suck and they were better than us. The fact is at that very rare time BYU was.:D But it was the bash on the entire University that is where he crossed the line. I will bet that god forbid he get cancer next year the doctors at the U will take care of him with the best care in the world with out hesitation. I hate everything about them. I hate their program, their fans. I hate everything.I think the whole university and their fans and the organization is classless. I don't respect them. Yet his fake apology says it had nothing to do with the school????????in the heat of the moment yesterday(Not heat of the moment) I made comments toward the entire university that were really directed specifically at those fans in RES. It was not intended to be directed at the entire organization and all of their fans and I apologize that it came out that way.
His comments where more about the university then the fans. He thought about what he was going to say, not in the heat of the moment! People are pissed because of that reason!

5. we should all now shut up BYU BB lost to Utah state and the U Lost to WEBER! Really that should shut us all up.

Why Must We

My ? is why must we turn a simple sports thread into a cop bashing thread. I myself am not a cop. I have friends that are cops and they are great people. Yes there are bad cops but in any proffesion there is bad people. Cops have so much B.S. to put up with and they are underpaid for what they do. So lets not stereotype. If the thread is about sports leave it at that. Thank your law enforcement officials. They are the ones trained to protect you.:beer;:beer;:beer;

Yes that cop sounds like an azzhat. Hell I promote law abiding citizens carrying concealed! What a huge crime deterrent! That cop had no right to tell you to hand over the weapons! What an idiot. You did a courteous thing and told him you had concealed weapons. I thank people for telling me that.

...and I agree completely about Hall's apology...what a joke. Keep it short and simple. Say it was completely wrong and inappropriate for me to make those comments...I apologize to the team and the fans. His apology only makes him a bigger douche! He is one huge DOUCHE!

That was my point a while back....but I am guilty of being sucked in because I couldn't listen to the BS. Anyway, enough of the LE stuff now please peeps!? Thanks Rmk900rider for your words. :beer;

Max Hall is a DOUCHE!

Basketball is just a filler sport until football starts again! ;)

Your right (just dont say that to my wife) But I never played sports in high school. Football basket ball soccer tennis. Any sport with a ball cause I did real sports that require two balls snowmobiling and MX. Now those are sport actually worth talking about.

I just noticed your avatar is a self portrait. I didn't know you changed it. ;) Ya basketball is still a filler sport for me....but hockey is quickly taking over. I love it more and more since my son plays. I coach now too.

Kevco just told me you bought a Toyota? WTF!? You need something softer to sit on cause your vag hurts? hehehehehehehe

He's a narcissistic little punk worthy of being completely ignored. :)

Oh wow...yup that totally makes sense....I bet he is narcissistic!

I totally agree with RMK here. This thread should be about how both BYU and Utah suck :D Go Washington Huskies.:face-icon-small-hap

Just kidding about BYU and Utah, oh and I know the Huskies suck this decade. Thank god for basketball.

MPS, thank you for your service. I have a lot of friends that are LEO's and you guys do a thankless job. I spent 16 years in the fire service and there were lots of times when I was glad you guys were there.

Nothing to do w/ Max Hall

But, I'm having way too much fun... It looks like Google has racism problems...

True it should not of come to cop bashing, but it should not of come to mormon bashing either, Or anything else other then Max Hall is an immature douche.

But peeps had to make it something it's not. I was only trying to point out to MPS that if what MH says about Utes reflects on an entire religion then what he chooses to says reflects all those in law enforcement. (in my round about way:rolleyes:)

He is a little story,

Around where I grew up there was a minister named Doug Porter.(google the name) He was not only the minister of an entire town but he was also the coach of one of the most successful high school wrestling programs around.

His oldest son Kyle porter, was the back to back to back california state champ at 145lbs. and his younger son Aaron porter(Google) was also a champ at 160 until he broke his back ending his wrestling career.

Long story short- Kyle I believe went to wyoming to wrestle, Aaron went to some school in so cal to become a minister like his father. Kyle lost his scholarship due to drugs and a car wreak. Aaron ended up becoming a cop out in Alabama then being arrested as well as his partner for stealing drugs and money from crime scenes. And the Dad, ol Rev. Porter. He was just sent away on murder charges for trying to kill an old RICH member of his church that he con'd into making him the executor of his estate. He finally succeeded killing the old man after the second attempt. moral to this story.......

there isn't one. well there is but I will leave that up to you.

Hall's pain a reflection of self-betrayal
Published: Sunday, Nov. 29, 2009 8:23 p.m. MST
"Speak when you are angry and you will make the best speech you will ever regret."
— Ambrose Bierce
Somebody did Max Hall wrong.
He says it was the University of Utah. He also said it was the BYU fans who doubted and criticized him.
"I don't like Utah," said Hall after he threw the game-winning pass to Andrew George in BYU's 26-23 win against Utah in overtime Saturday. "I hate their program. I hate their fans. I hate everything."
He hates everything?
I don't know Max Hall, but I hope that is not true. Unfortunately, that is the treachery of anger and hate. You can't isolate those toxic emotions. Eventually, more quickly than you realize, they contaminate everything around them — including your own heart.
"Consider how much more you often suffer from your anger and grief, than from those very things for which you are angry and grieved."
— Mark Antony
For more than year, he apparently swallowed bad feelings about an incident involving his family. He said Ute fans threw beer on them during last year's game at Rice-Eccles Stadium. It was, indeed, a disgusting act that apparently ate him up inside.
And then there were the critics.
Apparently he listened to what they had to say about him — his inconsistency; his inability to win big games — and he hated them for it.
Life isn't fair. People do bad things and they get away with it. If these are your adversities, Mr. Hall, fall to you knees in gratitude.
"Holding onto anger is like grasping a hot coal with the intent of throwing it at someone else; you are the one who gets burned."
— Buddha
It happens a lot in sports. Talk of revenge, pronouncements of redemption. Winning, it seems, makes everything right. The end, too often, justifies the means.
Saturday night, after being carried on the shoulders of teammates and fans, Max Hall proved that is an illusion.
Winning doesn't change the past. It doesn't erase anything. It doesn't make you a better human being.
He got his revenge. He beat the "classless" Utes and disappointed their "classless" fans.
The win won't change what his critics believe. It won't change the unpleasant experience his family had last year. It certainly will not engender thoughtfulness in those prone to call names and throw beverages.
What winning can do is show the benefits of hard work, discipline and teamwork. It can take you in a new direction and it can offer you hope and joy.
Max had a moment to praise his teammates, to thank his coaches, his family and those fans who believed in him, even when statistical evidence didn't support him.
Instead, he used his moment to belittle players who are, in reality, not that different from him.
"He who loses control, loses."
— Det. Frank Pembleton, Homicide: Life on the Street
Max Hall won.
It wasn't the perfect game for either team, but it was important for them in many ways. And he was blessed with a win.
Seeing him throw that pass, watching Andrew George hold up that ball in the end zone was a moment of triumph. It was pure joy. They earned one of those historic wins in fairytale fashion.
Instead of allowing himself to bask in happiness, in gratitude, he chose to spew venom at his perceived enemies.
Please don't tell me this is part of sports. Do not try to convince me that anger and hatred are motivating.
They are debilitating. They are corrupting. They are not what sports, especially college athletics, is about. Every single football team is filled with young men trying to earn an education, hoping to represent their schools well, praying they won't let their teammates down.
They are not the enemy. This is not a war, and there is no place for hate.
"Resentment is like taking poison and waiting for the other person to die."
— Malachy McCourt
Sadly, his comments will cause a lot of people to believe athletics are not a good place to learn integrity, dedication, commitment and hard work. The games are the best place to learn these things because you are not always expecting it.
Each game is a new opportunity. An opportunity to test yourself, your preparation, your abilities and your skills.
Life is just a string of opportunities. Some of them will come on football fields, some will come on a freeway when someone cuts you off and then flips you off. Will you respond in kind? Will you allow their anger to contaminate you? Or will you be who you are, even in the face of unprovoked, undeserved anger?
This is another opportunity. Max Hall can teach us all a lesson. We can learn from it, or we can rationalize it. He can learn from it. Or he can hate everyone who tells him he's made a mistake.
Max Hall really was betrayed. But it wasn't by strangers in red. It was, instead, his own heart that led him to a place of pain.
Forgiveness, someone once told me, really is a gift you give yourself.

I must say I join in the strong dislike towards most cops. I got a ticket 2 weeks ago on the way to church with all my family in our big Yukon from a UHPissant for 70mph in a 75mph zone(ok it was posted 55 for construction but it was sunday and no construction going on) when I was doing 65. I know for a fact he did not radar me cause I use a RD to keep my speed in check. I do not speed in the Denali.... azzhats most of them....

I got a ticket, whaa whaa whaaaa I hate cops!
Just because there isn't people working doesnt mean there isn't a hazard, construction zones are well marked. You chose to ignore it and got fined. How many times did you speed elsewhere and didn't get fined? I know I deserved every ticket I got and even ones I didn't get.

We may have the best justice system in the world but when it comes to tickets even the judges will admit they side with the cop in most cases. I once got a ticket in Orem for not signaling for a full 3 secs, It was at least 2 secs I guarantee it. The judge simply said guilty next... They almost had to have the bailiff escort me out of the courtroom....

again, whaaaaa whaaaaaa
I hate cops
whaaaa

judges of course are going to side with cops, because in the big picture there are a whole lot more civilian liars than cop liars. A cop gets caught in a lie and guess what, giglio material. toss their career away.

If your a judge are you going to believe some some deuch out of a 100 deuches you see everyday or the police officer?

MPS I dont care if youre Andy Griffith, my dislike for cops has nothing to do with you and I was just commenting on the subject at hand.

yet you attack him as if he stole your cookies and fined you for the milk being too warm

grow the f up

MPS your post was too long and I have ADD next.... glad to hear you are a decent cop. Isnt it going to snow next week?

what an azzhole, MPS pours his heart out all over the interweb and you pizz on it as if it were a side note

not cool

I too am sick of the cop bashing on SW, 99% of it is because some pre-pubesent jackwad got a ticket and had to pay a fine so they hate cops, its bred into them from television and passed down to them from their parents.

We are an anti-authority society, and cops have authority so they get hammered day in and day out with negative emotions and energy. Its f'n amazing that we have so many good cops.

IMO cops need to be tougher, look at one wrong and get stomped. The zero respect for cops only makes things worse in the end. Its the panty waste liberal rotten gang greenious society we live in.

I'll add cops need more training, especially in the areas of good old fasion common sence. 1 deuche bag cops makes millions of others look bad, makes their jobs harder next time they gotta deal with someone who had a bad experience with a cop.

Integrety, professionalism and common sence MUST be part of every cop. those who lack any of the three have got to be identified and removed.
