Matryx skid removal

I’m trying to remove the skid to replace the track. This doesn’t seem like it should be this difficult. But on the rear and front bolt removal, I can get 1 side out-both 17mm bolts.
When I move to the other side, the bolt will not thread out, it unthreads the inner axle. I’ve put it back together and it does the same thing on both sides. I
I have tension off the skid with a ratchet strap and the rear axle is loose keeping the track loose.

What am I missing?

It can be a pain in the butt for sure. Tighten the other side up a little bit and then try to loosen the other side. Sometimes putting pressure on the tunnel and pushing down on the skid, can put enough pressure on the bolts to get them out.

I did sort of straddle/sit on the rear behind the seat twice but still wanted to walk the inner anxle out.

Did you tighten back up the opposite side and try it again?

I know exactly what you’re experiencing and you’ll get it.

I did. I bolted the 1 side up and started over on the other side 2x now.
I Decided to put my tools away and come on here to see why I act this way when I work on things. 😂

It’s apart. Basically had to sort of add weight or pressure to the rear of the running board. Then loosen the bolt at a bit of an angle. I’m thinking that kind of binds up the inner axle. It doesn’t seem like a good way to remove a bolt to me though.

An air impact socket can get it moving. I always loosen one side and retighten then go to the other side. This will break the lock tight if there was any applied.
This. You might have to tighten the chit out of the other side… but has always worked for me.
