Marble sno park St Helens

Snowing when left a 5. Rd has plenty of snow to make it to the mountain.Going across plains is doable now but be careful. The mountain is great once you get there more powder vs the heavy wet snow on the rd .Either way it's worth the trip.Sunday should be great.Snow stopped heading down the power canal and turned to pouring rain. Will be fresh snow in the morning.
Not great pics but you get the point.Better than guessing conditions like we did before we decided to just go.Glad we did.

Rd riders update.. Past groomers coming out around 4;30 so easy going and you can stay out of the wet heavy concrete snow that I just luv ditch banging on the way in or out.

If you make it to the mountain bring mountain sled. The mountain is steep and deep!!!!!! Was all socked in and snowed all day leaving visibility quite challenging. There is so much snow on the mountain it's unreal. That little ride from the plains it just starts getting better and better deeper and deeper and the snow dries out from heavy concrete to deep fluff.Perfect climbing if you could see. Camera woman didn't make it to the mountain so no pics.
Good thing for women and cameras otherwise.....................................no pics.Cameras just add weight.:face-icon-small-fro.Got warned for not having stickers on my sled $250 if not licensed even if you just got them on the trailer. The license plate is ugly so never have it on my sled or it's stuck under the hood.He was nice when I pulled it out of the truck. He's really enforcing it this yr so heads up.$250 is lots of gas and red line oil.
Great mountain riding untouched virgin snow forever.!!!!!!!!

Thank you for the update. I'm planning on heading up on Monday. How was the snow once you got out toward the Mt. Better I"m sure. After this week at work I def. need some throttle time.

Read how is the snow at the berry fields/flattop I posted it there

TAGS FOR SLEDS ON TRAILERS

Although you need to be current on your tags to be riding, I believe the law has been changed so that sleds on trailers DO NO NEED to be registered. This happened about six months back I believe. Sounds like the sheriff/ Ranger did not get the memo:(.

Thanks for the update on conditions!! I cant wait!

If you weren't out riding today you missed out. Not a cloud in the sky. Didn't get to do as much playing off trail as I would have liked but when I have the wife and boy along that's the way it goes. Still had a great time with the family. Heres a couple pics of the good time.

She's beautiful !!!

I'm soooo jealous of you. Some times you have to bite the bullet but in this case dad you done good.Look at the smiles you created. The wife and boy are having a great time. You did the right thing your the man. Congrats!!!
It's been forever since we have been able to see the mountain it's unreal. That's what I'm talking about!!!!!!!! How I know the pull you resisted to just take a straight line and put fresh tracks all over her. She's untouched just waiting and calling out to you. Lol But some times there are more important things. Thanks for taking the time to post the pics looks like you scored on the perfect day.The little guy one day will be carving up that mountain following in dad's tracks.Way too go!!!
And the rest of us will be grateful you also took time out for us.Your one unselfish guy.
O'yah nice looking sleds.Again really appreciate the pics.

Yeah, I got so excited when I drove around the bend and had a clear view of the Mt. :whoo:knew it was gonna be a perfect day. I need about a week straight of days like that, it makes it hard the load up at the end of the day and head home. You are correct sir on spending the time with the family, I wouldn't trade that for anything. Yes, I will soon have another throttle jockey on my hands he loves riding, won't be long and he'll be riding circles around me. The wife is still learning. I need to find some open areas for her to get off trail and learn to maneuver her sled, she's not that comfortable on it yet. Anybody know of any large play areas down here?

you were in the biggest play area around here

the lahar , plains of abraham we just need some more snow be patient . went there today waist deep bottomless with thirty inches of base wait a bit it will come and my family will hook with yours and i'll give you a tour . took janets new machine for a test and tune today up there today.

She runs sweet just need to put different primary spring and its dialed.

Nice pics, you have me drooling. I would love to get my wife up to the plains but that would have to be on a day without the boy. Loving seeing the snow pile up, if we can keep the cold air around it's shaping up to be a pretty good season.

I used to ride this area when I was younger but that was 10-15 years ago when I was riding with my parents. Just bought the sleds last year and don't remember much about how to get anywhere except riding the lahar. Getting together for a ride sometime would be great, I really want to teach the wife some deep powder riding skills.

That is just the coolest photo I have seen on here in a long time.

Love the posture, leg up on the running board, total rider there...too dang cool.

I raised two sons and a daughter and we have many fond memories like that as well...that brought back a flood of memories, thanks for sharing it.

Looks like you guys had a fantastic time. :face-icon-small-coo

Went up today and the weather was decent in the afternoon. The snow however sucked. Nothing fresh, and all the snow on the flats was crusted over. The higher I went the worse it got. It was to the point where my track wasn't breaking through the crust and it was spinning on the ice, so we turned around and headed back. I know the weather is supposed to be nice this weekend but unless the snow conditions improve the riding won't be great. One positive was the trail wasn't all whooped out yet.

Hard frozen crust

Beautiful day on the mountain but crusty and hard.Mountain all ice.Trail get the piss beat out of you.
Out of cougar snow park groomed trail.
Great day for going anywhere just no climbing with all the ice.Good day for beginners to go across lahar.Any ? or pics of any area just ask.Rode the whole mountain front and back over 50 miles
All credit for pics are generated from my sis so A thumbs up to her.

Anyones friend lose a helmet

Found a helmet after leaving marble snow park.

Just luv riding the chutes in pine creek for whatever reason.Dropping off into the canyons below is just some thing else. But on this particular day pretty scary on the crusty snow and some times ice.
O'well the sun was shinning and could play in untouched chutes all day.Got better in the evening sorta softened up so can't complain. Some thing about riding between rocks on a climb gets the adrenaline flowing.Add a little ice and hold on jumping into a chute because there's no stopping for trees or rocks below.Kind of hard landings though.Snows going fast but at least we have a base if we could get some powder on top of it.
Great day for taking the family out could go anywhere without getting stuck.
