Up in the footwell, drill for a rivet. Make sure the plastic insert is laying as flush as possible before drilling the mounting holes and you may have to tweak a few of the aluminum X vertical projections if they don't let the plastic sit down into place as flush as you'd like.

I will never understand why the OEM left the powder coated tunnel behind for so long . I see some are finally bring back painted tunnels about time.
I did the B&M fab boards on my 11 ltd and still am bringing a rubber hammer with on most rides.
but I am not alone on use of it the pros and doos all take there turn with the hammer .guess I will prob never find a better solution to the age old issue
