i was looking at getting a m8 vs m1000 and was wondering pros cons of the to sleds.

M1000s feel really nose heavy to me, and just heavier in general (obviously). 1000s are finicky as far as mods and tuning go compared to 800s. And your not actually getting much more power from a 1000, not enough that would make me feel its worth it anyways. I would any day get a 800 over 1000.

I had a 2007 m1000 for 3 seasons... ran stronger than an 800 for sure, but if you are going to throw it around in the trees, the 800 is a no-brainer if you buy 2010 or newer. Prior to 2010, the 800's were only 145hp, so the 1000 seemed like a reasonable idea to me back then. If you like hi-marking, then the 1000 may be for you so you can beat your normally aspirated buddies on their 800's with your lightly modded 1000.... but a 1000 running 6 pounds of boost... I hear that can be A LOT of fun!
