M1100T ProClimb ON FIRE

This is what happend a week ago.

on my second tripp when the sledd only had be driven 30 mi totally it started to burn. The cause too the fire is in correct mounted fuelfilter.

A film with beautiful snowmobile driving from this day will come soon, meanwhile you can look at the smoke coming from the sled. Note that this is 5 minutes after start of fire, I was busy throwing snow the first minutes.

Me and David are doing a short trip to Slussfors trying to find deep enough snow and to test Davids brand new Arctic Cat snowmobile. It's an ProClimb M 1100 Turbo (M1100T). The first day of driving was ruined by a broken gearbox after 4 miles on Davids brand new Cat. With a big hammer in the garage we forced it to use front driving gear (reverse not possible), all this with the supervision of the dealer. The second day started with beautiful driving (a movie will come in a few days) in Klimpfjäll. Then suddenly, a small explosion and Davids M1100 started burning. We throwed snow at it for maybe 5 minutes before we managed to choke the fire.

On our first day out with Davids new Arctic Cat ProClimb M1100 Turbo the gearbox broke after 4 miles riding and I had to tow him home. Two days later with a temporary fix for the gearbox (forward only possible) we loaded the sleds and drove 100 miles from Slussfors to Klimpfjäll where we expected more snow. This winter has been unusual warm and we have to hunt for deep enough snow.

The weather was really good, -15C and clear skies, and the snow was deep enough to have fun. A perfect day? Almost. As you can see in the end of the film and in previous posting, the brand new M1100T began to burn after 30 miles of driving. My Summit 600 also quit working, but before the breakdowns we had a couple of hours of fantastic driving with the sun just reaching above the mountains. It was just a beautiful day.

Sadly, Arctic Cat is not helping David with his "burned cat". They will not repair the sled, they will not give him another sled, they only gave him the exact amount he paid for the sled. For that amount he cannot by another equal sled, because the price has gone up since he ordered his snowmobile 7 months ago. Also there are no black sleds to be found in Sweden so he cannot buy one... So here we have Arctic Cat selling him a sled 7 months ago, then when they delivered, it was faulty and hardly functioned for 30 miles. Now they will not repair it or give him a new one and there is no one for him to buy at dealers. So this season he is left without a snowmobile because Arctic Cat will not stand up and help him. He has tried to talk to both the dealer and Arctic Cat Sweden, but he is just met with a cold hand and no willingness to help solve the situation.

Arctic Cat, do you hear me, you need to solve this situation!!!

How much has the price gone up? Is it that big a difference that he can't just go get a new sled (maybe, go get the 8 instead?)

btw, I'd be PISSSSSED if they wouldn't replace the sled too, just curious.

I hope you get a new sled...........

They are in short supply, but they do exist. My dealer will not sell the extra one he's getting for the same price as our spring order, but the factory should find you one and make it right. Is there any left over in Sweden?

Yamaha's burn to, brand new Nytro burned to the ground(snow) last year on Lions head, carried out the steel pieces in a box, everything else melted

Cat should make it right if one of their parts failed and caused the fire, no question about that! On the other hand doesn't his insurance cover replacement cost? Keeps us informed on what happens with it. Good luck

I have got the money back but the problem is that I ordered my sled 9 months ago and then I got a very good price and now I have to ad 1500$ to be able to get a new sled

My opinion is that Arctic Cat Sweden should stand for that.

There are a few white M1100T left here in sweden by some other dealers.

The sled looks light and easy to handle with plenty of HP ...hope cat is watching and willing to make it rite.

What I don't understand is; why would you want to give cat another penny of your money? If that is how they are going to treat their customers there is no way I could give them more money. Just my $.02.

I guess that I liked the M1100T too much. It was really easy and fun too drive but I have a Nytro Mtx that I bought new 2008 and with 12400miles on the meter.
I'm planing too put MC-Xpress 180 kit on it instead, unless Arctic fix this for me with a new M1100T.

Thats a Diamond S Nytro....see the hood, rear of the tunnel, ez-ryde skid, and the steering. Kinda hard to compare a one off turbo build versus a brand new stocker, but cool picture.

I think you should feel lucky you got all your money back so easily and quickly. Your dealer should find you a new sled and sell it to you for the same price as the one they sold you before.
