M1100T hood reinstall

Maybe it is just me, but I had a hell of a time getting the air filter housing back on my M1100T when reinstalling the hood. Just didn't want to line up. Is there and easier way to get that sucker back on? Thanks.

Loosen the hose clamp that holds the air filter holder elbow. Flip the hose clamp so that you can tighten it after the hood is on.

what exactly is this doing for you when installing the hood?

Thanks,
Woody

it just lets u pull it over a bit so u can slide the filter all the way on so u can put the clam shell togather and don't push it to far then its hard to get the breather line in.make sure to get the new elbow for that aswell because if its not in and u role the sled it well make a mess. i have pdi 7 turbos and have had the hoods off a ton. pain in the *** at first but once u do it a couple of times 5min max.the biggest pain is the 2 torx under the sport bumper.

I don't understand why they didn't make the holes in the bottom of the sport bumper big enough for the screw heads to go through.

Madness would you mind posting your step by step install. The best way I have found so far is to have the bottom of the clam shell laying under the filter when you put the hood on...is that how you do it.

well i'll see if i can make a vid this week.i put the clam shell on last.
when u go to set the hood on just try to line the filter up to the airbox first.the airbox is moulded to the suport bar behind the filter. one u have it close pull out the 2 rubber straps and make sure the filter is on all the way.i then make sure the front lower holes lineup then make sure the rear clips by yhe gas tank are in. then go back to the filter makeing sure its all the way on. wiggle it on then put the breather in the end make sure u tightend up the hose clamp if u loosend it. then put the clam shell on then the torx then plug in the gauge then reinstall the bag. then breath and relax....
