Trying to figure out what is the correct sizing on the turbo I have talked to all the turbo:builders but I'm curious what The fine people on snow west think I have a 3071r with a tial 38mm wg but the turbine housing has three options a .63,.86, 102 im being told with the 63 (which I currently have)it will burn down every time I take it out and I need the 86 and it will work fine but I have other builders telling me I need a 102 because the 86 is still to small and will be very difficult to tune! The builders telling me I need the 86 tell me the 102 is to big and will cause bad lag! Just curious if anyone on here has any knowledge to this matter thank you (don't want to name the builders on sw)

Use the .86 if you want it to spool well. Do not go smaller! .86 is a little tight I think that's is why the 1000s are harder to tune. It will build boost on a track stand though :clap2:

toss that one aside and get a 3076 .86 ar , the guys that have actually ran them and tune them all agree its the one you want for overall, its the most responsive (from what I'm told) and builds more power on less boost than the 71 with better top end, but if you want massive power you can go bigger but will start to loose bottom end. The 76 also runs cooler charge temps. At least that was the conclusion I could come up with over the last year but who knows they might find something better. what kind of power are you looking for and riding style.

Riding style is mostly going to be tight tree riding a little hill climbing but even then still in trees not a lot of open hills where big boost is desired. Alot of on off throttle going to try and run 8-10 lbs of boost!

I'm pretty sure I would run the 3076, a few guys running them told me thats what I wanted if I was going to t my m1000, for pretty much the same style. Boost come in faster and takes less of it to get the power along with lower charge temps, no intercooler needed.

im running the 3071 .86. i run the sled at 8ish lbs with no intercooler and the charge temps hold below 170 on back to back pulls. personally i feel that turbo is good to 10-12lbs max on this displacement motor. any more boost and the 3076 would be worth it. i have heard good things about the 3076 for similar boost levels. i got my 3071 cheap so that what i ended up with.
hope this helps
