I'm %100 sure I'm gonna sno-check an M1000 for next season ...

I guess honestly even if the M1000 isn't as "nimble" as the smaller sleds, when you already weigh 240-250 pounds it's going to be less noticable, especially if you're athletic ...

I don't know, I just know that going from my 900 RMK to my parents 600 RMK's, it was like "WOW these feel way lighter!" but I could still take my 900 in the same places as the 600's, boondock it just as well once you hit the powder, and climb a lot better ....

I dunno for smaller riders maybe a smaller sled is a better idea, but for a guy my size the bigger sleds are a lot better idea IMO ..

I think I should have sno-checked an M1000 for this year, I've already pissed away over half the season ****ing around with this 900RMK ... I want a big sled that works right straight outta the box ...

Hopefully the 09' M1000 won't dissappoint me.

Dog meat Ia'm 240Lbs and love my M1 except in choppy snow there a little crazy to ride had mine in a cross up just like ridding mx bike LOL

Everybody prefers what they prefer! I don't think any 1 sled is perfect for everyone. My experience has been that I seem to adapt to whatever chassis I ride the most. Bottom line here ride the 1 you like to ride the best and high 5 your buddies cuz your stylin!! Just my .02!:D:D

the M-chassis is a way better boondocking sled than ski-doo's.. and i say ski-doo's because i have ridden the REV and the XP and have tried to ride these sleds the way i can ride my big, fat M1000 but it just won't do.
the XP is better than the REV thou.. it's easier to have your will on it. i feel that the REV does what it wants and you better hang on tight or it will kill ya ;)

and yeah, i know what you think right now.. brand loyal Cat guy.... well, no.. I actually want a Dragon cause it fit's my ridingstyle even better than the M1000 and is even easier to boondock and play with.

so to sum it up, M-chassis is the bestest of your 3 choices and the XP is second..

if youre wondering what my ridingstyle is, here is a youtube video to show you what a tiny 150-pound guy does on a M1000 :)

Me riding the fat cat

The more I ride I believe you can't really get to know a sled until you've ridden it for at least a week! I don't know the Rev, but the short times I've ridden it was hard for me to get used to. More riding would tell me....

I've owned 2 M's. A 153" with twins and a 900 UBR as well as stock 700. I now own a 163" TM7. The M chassis is the easiest riding chassis I know. The only sled I really don't know well is the Rev.

Well, I have an M, and rode a REV

on firm snow, the Rev is not as predictable as the M. Now that being said, his suspension might have been set up completely different accounting for that feeling. I think both sleds handle unreal compared to sleds even 7 years ago. You can do things on a stock sled that you could not even imagine a few years back. John

I have an M1k and have ridden the revs and xps quite a bit. I prefer the revs and xps for tighter on-and-off the gas situations. Possibly because of the weight of the M1k, but the rev is quicker to respond to input.

I have buddies with revs, and ive riden them, and I still like my M. Im 6'2" 210 lbs so im not that short small rider. I love the way the M will lay over. Half the time I still have my feet on both sides of the sled. Wouldnt trade it for anything.

That’s why I love the M-chassis. You can keep a leg on both sides of the sled and put it where ever you want it. I loved the 900 1M until I rode an M. I have had more fun on that sled then anything else I have ridden!

I've heard that the M7 (dont know if its just the 05s or what) has a crappy mid range and to get anywhere you need to be full throttle. Takers?

we have a m1000 in our riding group(08) and it is not even close to the xps in handling, take it in the trees for a few hrs and swap with a xp... m1000 may climb a bit better than the xps but not even close in the trees or sidehilling... much personal exsperience with this:confused:

Crappy midrange...

I think that with the attack 20 you do have to pin the throttle open to get anywhere ( in the powder position). The mapping is somewhat rich, which is easily remedied with the SLP air horn kit, though mine was fine without it. That being said I have the 2.5 in challenger on mine and boondocking with it is done mostly at 1/2-3/4 throttle and I have no problem at all.

andy it all depends on what you are going up. I like to Pin it in carves and climbing But 3/4 power on the m7 is its sweet spot. mid range could use some help. But it is olny a 700. thats why they made the m8.

Ride an 05 or 06 M7, ride an M1000 and ride a REV

M7 feels really light in the front and very responsive.

M1000 feels a lot heavier in the front, but has a ton more power. Still feels a lot better then the REV. Feels closer to my EDGE RMK.

REV feels like a tank in the front end in comparison. I've spent quite a bit of time on REVs and just cannot get used to it. It is a mofo to lay over. I definitely did some logging when ridding one because it was difficult to control. Maybe its just me, I'm 6'3" but only 170 lbs?

I thought the ZX was easier to lay over as well as my EDGE. Dragon is in between the EDGE and M7.

I would not trade my M7 for anything! Its just a plain fun sled to ride. It doesn't have a lot of low end, and eats some fuel but I just love it.

we have three m7's in our group and as mentioned earlier you can put a leg on either side of the seat and just shift your weight back and forth. the mid range might not be the greatest but its always more fun wfo:D

Ditto on that one , i tried to ride a King last trip . I got off 30 ft later , and said " I cant ride a Thunder Cat ever again". I wish i would of known the M was this good years ago , i would be riding an old wore out M7.

First ride after break in on my new M8 , i almost killed myself 3 or 4 times. I have never had so much fun on a sled in my life , not even close . I told my brother , this is the CR 250 of sleds . When the boost comes on line this thing will be unreal!:beer;:D:beer;

i am 5'6, 165 and have no trouble what so ever laying the M down on one side or the other. I rode with two XP's this past weekend(both were 800 162). Mine 06M7 153 challenger. They both agreed that the Xp wasnt as easy to ride in the tight stuff. And in the U.P. that is all we have. Im not bashing the XP's I think that they are a great sled, but to me that said alot. I didnt ride them but took there word. As far as the Rev chassie. Well never rode one or rode with one so i couldnt tell ya the diffrence.

nice another long track up rider im in houghton going to Tech for the next few years and depressed that i don't have a sled. those 09's look pretty sweet though

Ride whats best for you, not what other people ride! I rode doo and just recently made the switch to an M8 and i couldn't be happier smoothest and best riding sled in my opinion! But i would say if your looking for a great riding dependable, and great boondocking sled then its the M-Cat!!!!
