i just want to know if the m-series is easier to boondock than a rev or xp chassis because i have ridden both of those sleds however am partial to arctic cat and would like to purchase an m series

I ride a rev and it likes to stay on top of the snow a lot more, in the super deep you cant really tell the difference, but the M series definately lay over a whole lot easier because of there higher nose and slightly skinier track. I really like the M-sleds m7-153 stock is an amazing mountain sled that you can get used to really quickly

no sled carves like the M. these sleds, i think, ride better on one ski than 2!!:)

pud ur a joke the m is soo much nicer to ride in the trees and such, i mean u cant even keep up to me on the king , how are u going to keep up to me on the big m8.
lol

Spend a day on a rev and you'll never want to go back to an M. The M's are easier to lay over initially, but they tend to flop all the way once started....the Rev has such a nice balance point, even with feet on both sides.

The only way I could see an M being more comfortable to boondock is for a short, light guy. The Rev suspension is soooooooooooooooooooo much better too. And if you like jumps, drops, donuts and crap like that, the Rev is so much fun. I almost bought an M1000, but the fun factor just isn't there. If you just want a powder tractor, they work fine.....but so does a groomer.

It really depends what you'r into and what fits you.....I find it hard to believe that you've ridden both and can't draw your own conclusion. Sounds like you had more fun on the Doo but are searching for backup to buy a Cat, being a "Cat guy" Gettin warm?

M Sled

I Would Says That The M Is Easier To Layover But The Rev Is Easier To Ride With The Softer Susp But On The Other Side The Rev Does Take More Power From The Rider To Turn It
They Are Both Great Sleds
I Own A 06 M7 With Mods My Freind That I Ride With Has A 07 Summit 800 R

i couldnt agree more. i rode a m-1000 and i really didnt like it. i only spent a short amount of time on it, but jesus the thing tipped over with the slightest touch, and the suspension didnt touch my REV. the balancing point on the rev is wonderful, and like you said, no comparison for jumping...

I am loving my new 08 m8 snopro coming from an 06 summit 800 151, then an 07 summit x 800r 151 with the powdermax track. The revs are great sleds, jump well, and have nice snappy power. The M (at least the 8)is easier to boondock with, feels lighter riding it, has ALOT better running boards, efi, the fox float skid on the snopros is awesome and the power delivery is nice and smooth. Couldnt be happier. The M was well beyond my expectations...and I have a good feeling knowing my motor or belt shouldnt blow in less than 1000 miles and I wont have to replace the nun bumping into a twig or hitting a squirrel.

Ridden all brands since about 2000. In '04 I bought an '05 M-7 153 and fell back in love with riding. To date, I have not ridden a better boondocker chassis than the M-series. The M-7 has soooooo much left in the engine, it is ridiculous. Until there is a major change from the Mfg's, I have absolutely no reason to get rid of the M-7. 40+ MPH track speeds, 450 lbs, and just a flat out kick to ride.

I think Doo has a winner with the new XP if they can fix all the first year blues. Maybe add 10-15 lbs of strength...Flotation looks to be sick!

K....whatever you want to think. I came off a used Polaris, and bought a used Doo....my stance is that they're all junk and I'm biased to whichever is the most fun to ride. I'm well aware of the Doo issues, that said the only sled we've had on a rope this year was a near-new M1K that lunched a primary and got towed out by my POS rev. Not that it's the norm, just that ANY of them can and will break.

I've ridden, ride with, raced, and demo'd M1K's, M7's and M8's. I wanted to like one, because out of the 3 local dealers I like the Cat dealer the most, but just didn't have as much fun on them.

No need to jump all over me....just my take on things, I told the guy what I like and what not. Feel free to do the same.

typical answer from you brainwashed closed minded bomby guys. almost every sled is good these days. each has there own thing. if you want an M then get one i dont believe you will be disapointed. i baught a 07 M8 last year and love it. i have out performed some good riders on revs and then again i have been beaten by a few. M chassis is extreamly easy to get used to. the revs take a little to get used to and some dont get used to them. whitch ever really fits your riding style. i hate how revs wheelie so much. they do pop up on the snow nice but i also found for me that the M is much more nimble for some really sweet boondocking. and relyability, you cant beat the M's. Tuff tuff sled, i have put the thing to the bar since i got it out of the box. i got 1100 miles on it no issues passt stock clutching but if a doo doo guy tels you that their stock clutching is gold then they are dreaming. and the M's dont blow belts(enough said there)and theres alot of revs around me that are killing top ends after only 1400-1600 Km. i would have had to blow up a few hundred miles ago. M-series SOLID DAY TO DAY PERFORMERS.

yea i dont think that my doo has the greates engine, and im willing to say an arctic cat might outlast it, especially in belts, but the engine isnt the only component of the sled. On my buddies' M, everything but the engine breaks!, plastic cracks here, metal bends there, lights go out, speedo stops working, that sort of pain in the *** stuff. And im gonna agree with Jay, when u ride aggresivley they all break, so why not ride whats most fun? not saying thats only a REV, but they are a great chassis to jump and play on. So, if a 120 pound young girl who wants to boondock, then i would definentley reccomend a m, cause they fall over so dam easy. But, i dont plan on leaving the REV chassis for a few years to come, unless i got on a xp:D

WTF...

I have rode REVs, and while I like the motor I dont like the handling, they dont pop on one ski like an M. and the way I ride the Rev always felt like it was trying to buck me off. No fun at all. Bottom line is M's lay over real naturally and that is half the fun. I would like to try the XP though.

where in the original post does it say i've ridden an m series?? i've ridden an xp and a rev spent a few days on each

I have buddies with revs, and ive riden them, and I still like my M. Im 6'2" 210 lbs so im not that short small rider. I love the way the M will lay over. Half the time I still have my feet on both sides of the sled. Wouldnt trade it for anything.
