#1 Check the power valve cable and bend the bracket if needed (power valve cable gets hung up from the inner cable rubbing, throws the fault code and causes bogs)
#2 Check the exhaust y-pipe springs (silicone plugs have came out causing harmonic movement at certain RPM's hitting the steering post. The plugs should be deep enough to be flush with the coils, extra bead of silicone would help too) I re-watched Muskota's video and you can see the plug is missing out of his closest to the post!
#3 ECM reflash for better mid range fuel delivery
#4 Sport gauge reflash for better heating (fixes moisture build up behind the lenses)
#5 FOX IQS shock /a-arm contact (installing a lock washer on the spindle bolt raises the a-arm and increases clearance)
#6 check hardware on the entire sled for proper tightness (I know this is a pain, I know the sleds cost way too much money for this, trust me all industries are struggling with this!)
#7 Brake rotor rattle (adding a shim and O-ring that wedges itself down between fixes issue)

I am hoping for a bright future for Cat, they need it, the engineers and mountain team deserve it. The dealers want it and the Cat faithful have been waiting for it. I hope the snow situation changes in Utah and Idaho!

Good info! Nice positive message.

#5. Is there going to be an update issued for this to dealers? Seems like something I could do myself in 15 minutes. Why can't I reuse the t-40 bolt?
I was given that picture from an inside guy. I am guessing that they want a new bolt because of safety? I would just re-use the bolt, If i remember right they have blue Loctite from the factory. The person that uploads these things on the dealer website Cat Tracker must have been let go:rolleyes:, I can't find it anywhere

Any hardware that comes with patch lock from the factory is called out for replacement in any service procedure or bulletin repair. But of course, you can clean the threads and apply new Loctite.

Yes, I searched high and low on Cattracker it is nowhere to be found.

@ridgelinerunner ive seen a few pics of ice and moisture in the air box. Your thoughts on this? Did you see any last year on the 6 Catalyst?
The time I spent on an M600 last year I did not see that, The air box seams to be sealed up better on the Catalyst than the Ascender so I'm not sure where it would be coming in?

Just a thought... I wonder if the replacement bolt is a tad longer than the OEM one, since we are going to put a spacer in there to raise the A Arm.🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️

Sage, pretty sure it's not an issue. The width of the lock washer is 2mm or the equivalent of 1.5 threads on that bolt. Mine is done, took me 15 minutes including cleaning the threads of the old blue loctite. Solved the clearance issue on the IQS.

Well was thinking outloud, because you never know what engineers overthink things and not wanting a person to reuse the same bolt.
So I really wonder if 2mm is even close enough in height, to really change the contact point.... Seems like a ACE hardware fix for a lot of folks.

For #7, I ended up using a 1 3/4" ID x .030" thick differential pinion shim. Then put some bends in it to make it a wave washer. It fits between the snap ring and the rotor and with it being a wave washer, it takes up the clearance so that the rotor doesn't rattle. But also has some give to it so that the rotor can float somewhat.
I haven't had a chance to ride the sled yet, but so far so good.

Polaris put a bead of silicone on their rear floating rotors on their ATVs in the 1990s and early 2000s to keep them from rattling. Might fix these too and easy to do while doing silicone on the exhaust springs.

#4 Sport gauge reflash for better heating (fixes moisture build up behind the lenses) ? what is the tech number?

Just picked my sled up yesterday, it’s a late build that just shipped out a few weeks ago. Was chatting with the dealer about some of these issues, he was oblivious to most of them, but said he’d heard about the washer thing but it wasn’t official from cat yet. While tinkering on the sled I noticed this. It must be official enough that they started putting the washers in at the factory by the looks of it IMG_2729.jpeg
